Letters from Families & Troops

Dear Ladies,

I was on the second flight on Oct. 14th the (B) flight. I wanted to thank you so much for the smiles and memories of our last HOME event. I am in Northern Iraq and its been busy as heck but we finally heard about our pics and looked them up and what a cool thing it is! My battles and I so excited that we have emailed a lot of family members to get to your site and take a look. I appreciate from the bottom of my heart what you did for us greeting and saying goodbye, you are we are fighting for. An original photo would be great!

Thank you again.

Hello,

First off I would love to thank you for your love and support for our troops. I have been so impressed with the selfless things that you and your group do. And thank you for sharing it all with us. Our son was one of the troops that you saw off on Oct.22 in Bangor. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and your deeds of goodwill. He was speaking to us on the phone when you snapped his picture and he was telling us how nice you were to all of them. He was very impressed with the kindness; he said it made him feel special! And of course we told him he was special!...LOL.

I will forward this picture on to the rest of the family. His wife and children will enjoy it also.

Again Thank You from the Bottom of my Heart!

                                    D & D H

Thank you so much for all that you do for our troops. You have no idea how it makes them feel. He talked about the reception that you all gave them for days. It is wonderful how a small amount of kindness can make someone feel so good! Thank you for supporting us and the great work that they do in the name of freedom.

God bless you,
KH

I just want to thank each of you for the special service you provide for the troops. These pictures mean so much to the families. This is our first experience with deployment so being able to catch a glimpse of my husband and the men and women he serves with as they make their journey makes us feel as if we are there too. I'm listing a few pictures I would love to have if it's no trouble. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

Sincerely,LM (wife of MSG. AM, Oklahoma 45th Fires Brigade)

Hello!!  I just wanted to thank you for all that you do for the soldiers.  My husband was in Maine yesterday on his way to Kuwait.  He told me about the pennies and about your website.  I found 2 photos of my husband and when I saw them I couldn't help but to cry.  This is our first deployment and we are still newlyweds and this has been extremely hard on the both of us.  But knowing that there are people out there that care as much as the families do makes things even better.  I know my husband really appreciated it and his fellow soldiers also.  Thanks again to all of you for making the time and showing your support to each and every solider that you come across.

Thank you again for all that you do.

From an army wife, TM

Hello, my name is Teresa and I am the wife of SSG.,R. ... a handsomeHawaiian man, and I would love an email of his picture. I thank you so much! I would also like to say that I think what your group does is so wonderful and giving! I was on the phone with him at the time the picture was taken and he was telling me about the greeting the soldiers got getting off the plane. This made him feel so good and I can't thank you all enough! This means so much to them and to myself to know that there are people who care like this, to give their days to show support. Seeing him put such a big smile on my face and I am very thankful to you all who made that possible. I miss him so much and he is leaving again for another tour but I feel so warm and grateful inside to know that their are special people like yourselves to give them a boost of

support and to let me see his wonderful smile again. Thank you. Truly,

TR

Thank you for sending our troops out with honor. My husband was with the Army unit you sent off on October 14 from Washington National Guard. I was elated to see his picture on your site and to see the smiles you put on their faces. Thank you for giving them the send off we weren't able to from home. You really do make a difference! Keep it up!

Thank you, JN

Hi.  I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for your support of our troops.  My brother was one of the men who came through Bangor, Maine on October 22nd headed for Iraq.  To be there to say “thank you” and show your support I know meant a lot to him and I’m sure all the men who were with him.  So thank you and God Bless.

Heather

Dear Ladies,

Thank you so much for the pictures of my son.  He recently deployed and although I knew there are people to send him off at the airports, I had never heard of you all until now.  The pictures and video are awesome.  Thank you sooo much for caring about my son as well as all of the other men and women who stand ready to keep America safe.

For all you have done and are doing, I thank you,

A Marine Mom

Dear Flag Ladies,

A friend of mine (whose boyfriend is also deployed) showed me your website. I was able to find pictures of my fiancé who just deployed in September. This is my first time dealing with a deployment and it’s been pretty hard, but just being able to see pictures of him since he’s been gone helps SO much.  Thank you SO very much ladies!!

These are two of the best Marines ever to join the Marine Corps. And that man on the left is the greatest man I’ve ever met, period. Once again, thank you ladies, I’m so happy to see someone else loving and supporting our men.

Love, Liz, the proud fiancée of a United States Marine

First and foremost, I would like to say  THANK YOU!!!!  Before my husband called me on the 22nd of October from Bangor, I never had heard of your organization.  How amazing you are! I plan to make sure everyone I know is aware of you wonderful people!

Our troops that you visited that day included not only my husband but my brother as well. It was heart warming to see their pictures. It feels good to know that they are loved and appreciated for what they do by more than just their family.

With that said, I would love it if you could email the original pics I will list plus any perhaps that you may have taken and yet not posted of them both.

Again THANK YOU and bless you all!!!!

Hello, on behalf of my family and myself, I would like to thank you and your friends for the wonder thing that you do in greeting our troops.  My husband was one of those that your group met on the 22 of October 2008 and to see him smile before he left to Iraq was a wonderful thing for my children and myself. Once again, thank you and God bless, sincerely, RV

Hi ladies my name is Beth a marine wife that is thanking you for all your support, My husband is currently a Marine and just returned back from Iraq last month. Tonight I am just checking out the Internet looking at all the support the world is providing for all our active duty military that are taking care of our nation. It looks like you guys put a great deal into supporting our country. I would like to thank you for all the time and effort you put into your support. I am sure everyone including myself thinks it is a great idea what you are all doing. I just wanted to say thank you and keep doing what you are doing because it is great.

Thanks Beth

Dear Ladies and friends,

This is just to let you know that my son is safely back on US soil.  He arrived at Camp LeJeune last Wednesday, October 15, at around 9:00AM.  He looked good and was doing fine.  I’m very proud of him and I really appreciate reading the weekly messages from you.

Thank you for your continued support of our US Troops!

God Bless and Semper Fi!

Hi there!

First of all, my family and I would like to THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for providing this unbelievable service to us! If anyone doubts God is with us, they need to be in contact with you ladies! You are truly angels for serving our soldiers and their families the many ways you are, and our family is extremely grateful. The pictures taken of my husband were heart-warming and really filled that void I've been feeling since he left for Iraq. My son was so surprised as well and we looked through all the pictures to see where we could spot him again! I hate asking after all you've done already, but would it be possible for you to send a copy of two of them? Below is the location of the pictures.

Again, thank you so much and God Bless You!

Sincerely, IH

I want to thank all you for everything you do for our service men. My grandson was on your October 5 Marines. It was great to see him. And is wonderful to know that families like you take the time to visit with them and take the time to put the picture's on the internet for all of their families to see.

 Thank you again  NJB

Oh Thank you Ladies so very much for his picture and Thank You for been there for our servicemen/women that do go through your airport going and coming home....Thank you for your prayers and giving us a place in your hearts...You have made a mother so happy and knowing that there is people like you ladies makes it a little easier in our hearts....God Bless You All and Thank you for doing a BEAUTIFUL job... The smile on my son's face will always be in my heart and mind thanks to you ladies...

Sincerely and a very Grateful Mother,

Good Evening!  My son deployed to Iraq on Oct 14th 2008   I would love if you could email the picture that was taken of him I cannot tell you how much it means to me and his family that you were there to send him off and let him know that he and his unit do matter and what they are going to Iraq for is important to so many people.  As a mother it means the world to me that you were there for him as I was unable to be.  Marcus is the oldest of seven children and all of us miss him so much.

Again thank you and God Bless You all.

Sincerely DF

I was forwarded a link to your site by my son's aunt who stumbled across it while doing some research on his company.  I can't tell you how heart-warming it was to see he and his company with smiles on their faces as they enjoyed your warmth and hospitality on their way to Iraq on September 15.  You have given a very warm (and somewhat damp!) feeling to a very concerned family here and we cannot thank you enough.  There is a very special place waiting for you all for all that you do and have done.

With thanks and great appreciation,

P & L B very proud parent/step parent of
2nd Lt. NT USMC

Good Morning!

Yesterday my husband headed out for his forth deployment and while on the phone with him during a layover at Bangor, one of you kind ladies asked to take a picture with him. I can't thank you enough for coming out to support my husband and his fellow soldiers on their way to Iraq.  It is so comforting that someone is looking over our loved ones on their way to this long journey ahead of them. I eagerly anticipate seeing the photo on the website and I am sure they are going to bring tears to my eyes. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for showing our troops so much love and support.

Kind regards, Kristin

I would just like to take the time to THANK YOU ALL! for being there supporting our men/& women as they depart. It's very wonderful to see another photo taken of my husband, my children’s father before he departed from the States. My youngest son is taking it extremely difficult and we framed the picture we found y'all took of him there at Bangor. It was comforting for my son to see him again OK there at Bangor.

 Thank You!
LeeAnn

Thank you ladies for posting a picture of my husband before he left for Iraq.  He looked excited and it gave me comfort knowing that you sent him off with love and care.

Sincerely, JVE

I'm a little choked up as I type, because I just discovered your website and read all about you. My husband left for Iraq just a couple of weeks ago, and you met and photographed him. It means so much to me that someone like you was there to see him off on his deployment.

I know you are very busy, but if you get a moment I hope you could email a copy of his photograph to me. I know our children would be thrilled to have a copy of his picture.

Thank you so much for all you do.

My best, AT

Hello Ladies,

I am a wife of the Marine you took pictures of on October 5th, 2008. I want to give you blessing and tell you how much you are blessed. Thank you so much for all of your support. You show the meaning of "God Bless America!" If everyone in this nation could and would be as supporting as you ladies the world would have peace. Once again thank you so much for everything you do! :)

Thank you for all your support. It makes the Marines feel so good. Take your time I know it is a lot of pictures. Thanks so much!

I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate everything that you ladies are doing.  You saw my son off in Bangor 2 years ago, and this time next week I will be at Camp LeJeune anxiously awaiting the return of my son from his 2nd deployment.  You are all a great inspiration to not only myself, but I’m sure to many others.

God Bless you! TB

VPMM of SSgt. MC, USMC soon to return to USA soil!!!

Semper Fi!!

Thank you so much for your website!!!  My family just said good-bye to my nephew (husband son grandson cousin uncle) Ryan Hills. You saw him being deployed on October 5 from Maine going to Iraq. I saw his picture on your website, touched the computer screen, cried and said a prayer for him and all of his troops.  It meant the world to me to see his face!

Thank you for seeing him off when we could not be there in Maine.  Thank you for caring about our little Ryan.  We are afraid for him on his second deployment to Iraq but are praying for God's protection.  Thank you for giving him the send off from our country that he and the other boys deserve.  And thank you for taking pictures for people like us back home who long to see our child's face!  You are truly a blessing.

May God richly bless your life as you do His work.

Thank you so much! BWH

Hello!

First off I want to say that I looked at your site and what you do is amazing and it truly means so much to so many people. My fiancé deployed to Fallujah, Iraq yesterday. He went through Maine then on to Germany and when he called me at 5 this morning he was in Kuwait City, Kuwait. He told me about you guys and said he took a photo with you. I was wondering when you would have that photo up. We were not able to be there to send him off so we said our goodbyes on September 25th when he left Texas to go home to California. I would really appreciate getting a copy of this picture. Just let me know when they will be up please. Thank you soo much for everything you do.

Hello!

My son came through Bangor Saturday night (well, really Sunday morning) from Camp Pendelton and I wanted to THANK YOU so much for greeting him!  I found out he was going through Bangor around 1:00 am and thought, "I can make it if I drive now!" Of coarse, it’s a 3.5-hour drive and he didn't want me to do it and in the end, it was probably the best decision to stay home.  But, having been part of the Pease Greeters, I knew he was in good hands!  I knew someone would be there to hug my baby and tell him how proud we all are of him and send him off with love.  So I want to THANK YOU all for your dedication and for standing in for sooooo many mothers who wish they were there to send their children off with a hug and a smile!  There is a special place in heaven for all of you!

I was also wondering if any pictures were taken of them during their visit.  I checked the website and I know I'm just being impatient, but I thought maybe you could give me an idea on how long it usually takes to get pictures up there so I’m not checking every 15 minutes!  I'm still being a little obsessive!  lol

Again, just let me say THANK YOU!!!!  From one mother who knows what it means to have you there!

KP

I just wanted to write a quick note to say thank you.  My brother was just deployed to Iraq for the 2nd time and you had a picture of him on your site.  I cried when I scrolled through and noticed- there he is - my baby brother.  You are all so amazing for what you do, truly a gift. Thanks again for all you do!!!!

Sincerely, JM

Dear Flag Ladies

I just discovered your website and found a picture of our son as he was leaving for Iraq.  It is so special to have that!  Thank you for caring for our troops.  And thank you for taking pictures!

Our son mentioned (back in July) that there was a nice reception in Bangor when he left, but I just thought of it again today and found your website.  What a wonderful surprise to see his picture.

Again, THANK YOU for what you do!!!!

PB

Just wanted to say thank you for all you do for our troops!!!  You are amazing women!  I found two pictures of my "baby" brother from his layover in Maine.  I truly admire your dedication.  You make me proud to be an American!  It is a great comfort to know my brother had the privilege of meeting and being inspired by you before he left.  It is

people like you that justify his belief that he is doing the right thing.  God bless you!

A grateful sister, AL

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies & Friends -

Thank you so much for supporting our troops there at Pease.  My son (David Carr) was part of the advance party of the 2/9 marines going to Iraq and is in some of your pictures from September 15, 2008.  I really appreciate you being there to give the troops a shot in the arm and remind them that there are Americans who care about them other than their own families.

I appreciate you very much.

Thank you! ~ Steve

Dear Ladies,

My son recently passed through Bangor with the USMC and you were there to greet him and his buddies. Having that last photo of him before he deployed means a great deal to me. He left out of NC and I am in New York, so it gave me something to visualize his departure with.

God bless you for all of your wonderful work...words cannot express how grateful I am for your selfless support of our Troops.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,

Cathy

Just wanted to Thank You wonderful ladies for all you do.  My husband is in the Marine Corps and just deployed Sept 24th.  I just saw the pictures and they are wonderful!  He was on the phone with me when you took the picture and that make me feel great to see it.  It was hard seeing him go but a great feeling to see his picture after just a few days.  Thank you again for all you do for our troops and all the support.

Sincerely, MB

Carmen, Elaine, JoAnn

Thank you all so much for being there and sending off my daughter and some day son-in-law.  They were there on the 24th of September and in a couple of pictures that you took.  I can't believe that you take the time to do that and by looking at your site you do a lot more than just send our troops off.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.  You are all the best.  God bless you all.

Mom of SGT K

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

I just wanted to tell you thank you for taking all of the pictures that you did of the 2-211 that was just in Bangor, Maine.  My husband had his picture taken with you ladies.  That is a very gracious thing to do.  I was wonderful seeing all of the soldiers smiling faces.  You are right about it being a rough time when they are leaving.  My husband and I will be expecting out 2nd daughter when he is over seas.  So that of course made it difficult.  But thanks to you, we get to see the smiling face that we are use to seeing.  My daughter who is 3-1/2 and I thank you so much for your dedication to the troops and their families.

Hello. I am a wife of one of the Marines that you guys met in New Hampshire. I was looking through some of the pictures and found some of my husband and some of his friends and I was wondering if you could e-mail me a few photos. I would also like to Thank You for meeting our guys! I know that they really appreciated it. My husband has been in the Marines for 5 years now and this is his 6th deployment and this is the first time he was greeted like this and he truly appreciated it!

Sincerely, MB

Dear Ladies, What a great thing you are doing, I am so glad I found your website, I know I will be using it for the next 8 months, I believe my son is in one of your pictures, I hope I have sent enough info so you can send it back to me,

This is my son's first deployment and my heart is heavy, he is a Marine and only 20. Thanks for your help and God Bless all of you and what you do.

I want to thank you sooo much for sharing the pictures of our troops on your page! My fiancé came through there on August 29, 2008! He was on the phone talking to me and was telling me about how they where greeted by you all. You could here the since of pride in his voice. I really wish there was more people out there like you all. Again I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Any time I get to see my love one and his “buddies” it puts a smile on my face. You all did that for me today when I got to see them on your page! I am so very proud of them and the rest of the troops that went before them and the ones that will go after them! I cannot thank you all enough for everything you all do!

RC

Bless you, Freeport Flag Ladies!!  You Rock!!

We were so excited to learn of your website, and to see the pictures of our son and all the rest of the 2/9 Marines in Bangor.  Thank you for giving them all a warm

send off as they left for Iraq.  It was extremely hard to leave him that morning at Camp Lejeune, as I'm sure you know, but it was wonderful to see his smiling face in your pictures a few hours later!

We would so love to have one of the pictures of him.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that you do.   You're the Best!

Sincerely, A & B H

Thank you for everything you do!  My husband loved your send off.  And loved even more that you reminded him of his mom.  She wants one of your shirts by the way.

Thanks again for all you do and know it means the world to these guys!

Dear Elaine, JoAnn & Carmen

Thank you again!  I was able to call my sister in Florida and share this picture with her.  Those pictures provided her uplift on a day she really needed it.  She was able to forward the picture to her husband who is working on a ship in the bay and I am sure he will get the same comfort we all have gotten!  Thank you again for being there when we could not my sister has two others in different services (army and navy) this is our first deployment.  We pray that all service men realize that this country loves and supports what they do!  You have been sent from God for us today!  Thank you for giving us faith and the love of fellowship as Citizens of America!

God bless! M.S.

Dear Freeport flag ladies

Thank you so much for all that you do.  My young 19 year old nephew was deployed this week.  To see him smiling among some of your pictures brought me and my family such JOY!!!!  Thank you for your effort and the send off you gave to my nephew.   To think this is the last American soil he will touch in 9 months and to be greeted by you with a heart warm “Hello” and “Thank you” what more could I ever want.  Freedom is not free but to have the support of a stranger must bring much joy to know that their sacrifice does not go unnoticed.  Thank you for being there on Tuesday in Bangor.  As a family member thank you for extending the love that each of us wanted to send him off with.  I will never forget what you have done and I will hold you in my prayers.  May God continue to bless you and your mission!

                          Sincerely  M.S.

Thank you for the support that you showed our son and his fellow comrades.   We have two children, one in the marines and the other in the army.  We are proud of both boys for what they are doing.  Seeing pictures of my son brought tears to my eyes.  I look through each and every photo hoping to get a view of him.  Thank you for that joy.  I found several pictures with him in them.  If I could have a copy of any of them it would be highly appreciated.

Thank you,

N. M.

Thank you so very much for seeing my husband off from the wonderful and grand United States.  I will probably never meet you but you are ambassadors of love and respect.  Thank you for taking care of my husband, CW2 M.M. and giving us a great picture to keep forever!

Love and affection for all you do – J.M.

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

I want thank you for the time, money and resources you use to support our troops.   This is our family's first deployment and what a blessing to know that before my husband left he received your support and encouragement. May God continue to bless your ministry and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  The B. Family

Ladies, I am a Desert Storm and Operation Just Cause Veteran.  I just finished surfing around through your website and am honored to know that you have dedicated some much time, energy and money to such a wonderful cause!  I still remember the welcome we received when we returned home to Florida after those conflicts I was a part of.  I believe your organization will live in all the soldiers, sailors, marines and airman’s hearts and memories and their families forever!  I salute you on your efforts and from a USAF Veteran, many, many thanks!!!

J.G.  Crestview, Florida

Hello!

First off, this is so nice of you all to both greet our troops AND provide photos for family and friends.  It's such a treat to be able to see my son, and his fellow Marines, up close and personal in your pictures.  As a former photographer, I appreciate the effort you put into getting nice images of as many different people as possible, both candidly and smiling for the camera.  Thank you!!!

Again, many thanks from our family and I'm sure all the others.

C.H. Gainesville, Florida

Ladies, my wife and I could not be there to see our son off, but the pics and the hospitality that he received from you and your group was heartwarming to him.  It makes us swell with pride again knowing that there are people out there that support our men and women like you do.

Please send my THANKS and a huge hug to all who were part of the 22-24 Sept greetings.

Hello! My family is from Iowa & we just wanted to thank you for being there for our troops......Our son in law Mike left from Bangor on 9/24 & let us know about you ladies.....thank you so much, we appreciate the photos & wanted you to know how much it means to have them.......God's blessings to you....thank you so much!!!

I wanted to say thank you for posting the pictures from Sept 24, 2008. The Marines left for Iraq and my future stepson was in one of those pictures..

…I can never explain the joy and tears that I shed for HOURS after seeing him in 3 of your photos. But this picture in particular, knowing that he is safe, and that even though he can't call me, I did get a chance to see him. Even if only in a photo.

I have posted your web site on several message boards and have told all of my friends that have military friends or family about you and your site.

I will cherish this picture forever. You are a special group of people and I will appreciate your dedication to our troops long after my stepson is back home and discharged.

Thankfully yours, Nichole

I just wanted to thank all of you for the picture you posted of my brother from the September 24th flight.  I do not need a response from you, just wanted to say thanks.  I know you are busy.  He left for Iraq, leaving his 4-year-old daughter, 2-year-old son, and his wife who will have another little girl in January, while he is gone.  It meant so much to see the pictures you took.  I did use one as a screen saver on our computer and I show it to my two little boys so they can remember their Uncle that we are praying for.  I know the hassle computers and traffic can be and I so appreciate the time you have spent to do this.  I guess "thank you" doesn't say enough of what I feel but it is all I have.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hello,

I am so pleased that the Freeport Flag Ladies (and company) take time, effort and resources to greet the troops as they depart from our home soil in route to defend our cherished freedoms. I was very touched as I viewed the 2-9, putting faces to names that I have heard our son talk about.

Our son is one of those who is now serving our country as a Marine.  I am hoping that you might be able to forward us his pictures.   Thank you again for your support.

Sincerely,

M & S C

I would like to thank you ALL for what you all do, the time you all dedicate to this, and your compassion for our troops! I was just curious, my husband came through Maine last nite (Army-part of the 1-25th beginning they're deployment) and he was SO grateful that you all were there, and was very excited to tell me that he might be on your website. I was just curious if you have more pictures from last nite, or if the ones on the website are the only ones that were taken. Thank you for your time, and again...EVERYTHING you all do!

Sincerely, R.H.

Thank you Ladies!  It was a great surprise to see everyone at Bangor.  Many have commented their appreciation for your efforts.  You are truly a Godsend for all of us military people.  Thanks for the other website too.  See you early next year upon our return.  MSgt C.G.

Hello Ladies

I just wanted to write and say thank you for supporting our troops so much. My husband was deployed yesterday and you attended his layover in Bangor. We had viewed photos of his friends in Pease and as soon as he called me he told me that the "Flag Ladies" were there. He was pretty excited and thought it was so nice of all of you to welcome them so kindly. I also appreciate seeing my husband and his buddies in photos when they are off somewhere whenever I can. Again I just wanted to thank you. With a deployment being so new and fresh in my mind anything helps... especially pictures.  Thanks again.

B.W,

Good morning:

First I must say what an awesome Idea and comfort for us parents who are unable to greet our children after being away so long. My son arrived thru your wonderful well wishes and greeting yesterday 9-22-08.   I found your web page and couldn't contain my emotions.

Thank you for doing what you do for our children....

M.L.
