Letters from Families & Troops

Hello Flag Ladies,

I'm a mother of one of the soldiers that you greeted on July 10, 2006.  I received your web site from my daughter-in-law.  What a pleasure in knowing that you ladies and other do so much for our boys and girls.  I'm sure they didn't expect to have anything like this.  I'm sure seeing you brought a smile to their faces.  I know it would have brought tears to mine.

This is a very stressful time for everyone seeing their love ones leave and not knowing what will happen.  So having you there at that moment brought joy to them.  It was like having their families

Once again, thank you so much for being there for our troops, one more time seeing our son, husband, brother, uncle was something that we will treasure.

God be with all of you. G.H.

I read an article about what you do for our soldiers in the GX magazine (Guard Excellence) and wanted to thank you.   My husband is in the Army National Guard and is on his way over.  He will be going through your town sometime today.  I think it is an absolutely wonderful thing you do for our soldiers!!  Our guys have already been away from their families for 5 months of training and every little bit of support they receive really boosts their spirits and makes them feel ready to do the job they’re setting out to do.  I hope they get a chance to meet you!!!

God Bless You for your service to our soldiers!!! G.P.

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

I would just like thank you for all do for the men and women in the armed forces. My son was at Bangor Maine Airport on July 20th headed for Afghanistan, He said it was so nice of you all to treat them so nice and I am so happy that my son got to meet you all he said it was such a warm welcome and he can’t wait to see you all when he returns in 6 months. I am just so happy that he will be greeted by you all when he lands in the states again he said ya’ll are like family and that you really care what they are doing!! Thanks again for all you do it is really appreciated by all the guys and women!!

Thanks Again, C. W. (mother of a Sailor)

First of all,

I would like to thank you for the care packages you have provided me here in Iraq. I suspect you got my name and address from one of my previous NCO's, of the 94th Maintenance Company. She and I served together at Ft Stewart, Georgia. I was transferred to Ft Campbell prior to the 94th Maintenance Company deploying over here. I grew up in Appleton, Maine and am extremely proud that a group of folks from my home state would touch the lives of our soldiers and maybe more importantly, set the example for our young folks by displaying your patriotism. Thank you so much. May God richly bless each of you for your efforts.

Respectfully, T. W. Bravo Company, 801st BSB, 506th RC 101st ABN DVN (AASLT)

My husband just sent me your website, and told me to find his picture on it.  He stopped over in Maine on his way to Kuwait and then Iraq.  He was overwhelmed and honored that so many people came to greet the troops.  He sounded so happy to get such a warm greeting from you.  Needless to say, I feel so grateful that he left the United States on such a positive note.

It certainly doesn't seem adequate, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness.  Not only for the sake of my husband, but for all of the soldiers who are sad and scared as they leave to do their jobs.  Thank you again for all that you do. L.F.

Hi Freeport Flag Ladies,

Thank you for your continued support and messages while I was deployed to Iraq.  I am sorry that the Army did not fly us through Bangor on our way home.  Instead, they stopped in New Jersey, then on to Fort Bliss.

Elaine, I hope you have been doing well since your hospitalization.  You should have someone else take your place when you aren't feeling well.

Keep up the good work.  I will never forget your kindness and hospitalilty I experienced when we were fortunate enough to spend a few moments with your group in March.

Sincerely, COL Richard Asami

Hello and God bless out there in Maine!

First of all I would like to thank you beautiful ladies for your unconditional kindness towards the troops and as one being my uncle Steve Solis. You truly have enormous hearts and I can't find enough words to thank you all. I was very pleased and filled with joy to find pictures of my uncle, first talking on the phone with my Mom-his sister-and later sitting with some of the members of his platoon posing for a PIC. And seeing him just being his happy self! I would like to ask if you may be so kind as to send me his pictures by mail to have as a sense of hope to see his face at home once again.                                                                                              Thank you ever so much and keep praying for peace,                                                M. G his proud niece

Thank you so much for your e-mail and the mention of the pictures on your website.  I saw my husband in two of them and you’re right – it really made me smile J My 2 year old saw it and was thrilled to see his daddy.  (we have 4 children from 2 to 14 yrs old!)

I work at the Family Assistance Center designated to help the families of our unit – I’m going to e-mail them the link to your website first thing tomorrow morning – I know they’ll all enjoy it as much as I did J

Thank you again for all you do – God Bless!!! G.P.

First of all, I would like to personally thank you for all you do for our soldiers.  I was unaware of your group until someone sent me your website and am quite impressed with the love you show the troops.

Again, thank you for all you do and that it is very much appreciated.  It was a very difficult time for me when he left and these pictures made me smile and feel better to know that such wonderful people were on hand to honor him when he left his country.

Best wishes on all your efforts.  You are in my prayers, Sincerely, S.W.

You ladies have just made our day, when we received the e-mail from our FRG director we were delighted to hear of another wonderful story coming out of Maine. Our son was one of the young men that you met on July 22, 2006 and to find his "smiling" face in your picture collection was awesome! The picture was captured his character completely…We have spoken to him briefly since his departure and the images that we take from the last day together are ones of tears as he says goodbye to his wife and his 2 week old daughter so seeing his smiling face in your pictures was a prayer answered...thank you.

There are so many good people in this world, we just do not always have the opportunity to cross their paths, but we have been blessed to cross the path of the "flag ladies" and we thank you so much. Keep up the wonderful work, you are an inspiration to all. We will keep you all in our prayers especially Elaine as her story is so very familiar. I too found myself confronted with an unexpected abdominal surgery with a very long recovery about 7 years ago (Crohn's Disease) so we will really hope and pray for her speedy recovery. C.B.

First of all I would like to thank you for the warm welcome you show our soldiers on their arrival in Maine. It is hard enough for all the men and women to leave their love ones, but you gave them a final send off that we couldn't before leaving the states, and I would like to thank you so much for that. I just got my new son-in-law in February of this year and already he had to leave his new wife and his new step-son and they both miss him very much, so this picture willhelp them both a lot. Thank you again. A.I.

Dear Flag Ladies,

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being you and the wonderful send off you are giving to our troops heading into harms way.

I am the mother of LT.C  N.G. who deployed to Iraq on June 26 . I am told by my son-in-law that I could get photos of her.

Back to your good will, there is no doubt in my mind that God has touched your hearts and minds to do this supportive good works for our troops.  It has to be a great effort for you some days but, I can see you are a committed trio and our country is fortunate to claim you.

You are so right that our young people need to see expressions of patriotism by all of us, young and old. I have witnessed too many of all ages who neither recognize our flag or our National Anthem. That is a sad commentary for our country.

All four of my sons have served , my oldest son, Don, Viet Nam, Kitty Hawk,Tony in the first Gulf War and Nancy continues in her very committed life to protect this United States at any cost. She has been in harm's way many times and I just continue to pray she will come through this second tour to Iraq safely home again.

May God bless you richly in all ways and grant you strength to continue as the Flag Ladies of Freeport for a long , long time. Elaine, you have been blessed and you are a blessing ,stay well.     1.T.

I just you to know that you put an ear-to-ear grin on my 9 year old daughter's face as well as a teary-eyed 10 year old son who got to see photos of their daddy as he was about to leave for a tour in Iraq.  It feels really good to know that your kindness and generosity, to give all that you do to support my husband and the other US soldiers who are helping to free a country from something that is the total opposite of what you all stand for!  Thank you for making my husband's lay over in Bangor, Maine a memorable and comfortable stay.  You made me feel at ease knowing the peace of mind he probably felt to be greeted and sent off to a hostile environment!  So my hat is off to you ladies and all the hours you have put into your volunteer.  There is special places in Heaven for you all!

Sincerely, A.D. Proud Wife of a US Army Major

i love your website its good to know that we still have people around in our nation that still have and show great pride in our troops. Thank you for that dedication you demonstrate to our troops. in all pictures on your website you demonstrate very well the joy you bring to them.

God bless you, A. C.

We are the parents of one of the soldiers you welcomed on June 28th, flight 2. Our new daughter-in-law heard about your web site from another wife of a soldier who passed it on to her. We found our son's picture in a couple of your photos! We just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the warm welcome and great send off that you gave our boys and girls. There has been so much negativity about this war we are waging against terrorism and it is so heartening to see someone acknowledge the efforts and beliefs our boys and girls have that they are protecting their country and the freedom we fought for so long ago. I know you warmed our son's heart by your support and you warmed ours as well. We know God will reward you greatly for what you are doing. You are now in our prayers, right along with our troops.

J. & L. M.

Just a quick note to let you know my son is now home for good! He completed his 4 year active duty commitment with the 82nd Airborne. Out of his 3 tours in Iraq he came through Bangor only once, that was after his first tour before pictures were being taken and posted on your site. The other 2 times they were scheduled to come through Bangor but the weather changed all that and they were re- routed elsewhere.

He did say how he appreciated the greeting that he and his comrades got coming through the airport, made them feel very welcomed.

So, with that being said, I just want to say thank you for what you do, you are a great blessing to our Troops that come through Bangor. Thanks and God Bless

 Sincerely, One proud American R.G.

Thank you so very much for your wonderful reception you gave our boys who were on their way to fight for the freedom of our country... You don't know what this meant to them, as they are embarking on a perilous journey and don't know what they are going to encounter on their way.....My son wrote that it meant so much to him just to know they are appreciated.....We are so apprehensive over what they will encounter, and this helped us (their families) also....Thank you..

.L. A K. a mother of one of them....

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

Thank you so much for supporting all of the men and women who pass through your gates.  My husband stopped in your airport on June 28, 2006.  This is his 2nd year long deployment, as it is for more than half of 3rd Brigade, 2nd ID.  Needless to say, we are having a tough time saying goodbye again.  Your picture of him on the phone with his 3 girls is priceless.  I treasure it and all that you are doing.  I have informed our head FRG leader of your web site and she forwarded it to all of the families here.  I am humbled by your kindness and I am spreading the word of your great work to all who will hear me.

Thank you again.  You are angels from above. Most Sincerely, B.T.

As an American and a wife of the military, I feel I'm in need to express my gratitude to you ladies. Recently you had the opportunity to greet my husband I know that one of the hardest things for him to do is leave his family and his country behind for this year. I am happy to know that before he left he got to see that real Americans appreciate him and all the other men that are serving this country. Here there were some protests that was hard on all of the soldiers. I realize that you are very busy so I will keep this short if you have the time to send his picture I would appreciate it greatly.

From all of our family here may god bless you and thank you for what you do every day. S.B.

I am sure you don’t remember me, but I want you to know how my son is doing in Iraq.  He called Sunday and asked me to tell everyone that is praying for him to continue to pray.  He said he truly believes that the prayers are working and that they are the only thing keeping their company alive.

I am writing you to please keep him and his company (C-Troop 1-113th CAV – from LeMars, Iowa) in your prayers.  The insurgents are now making IED’s that are penetrating the armor of the humvees.  Tony has seen one miracle after another, where one of their soldiers should have been killed or seriously maimed – he feels that our prayers are protecting their company.

Thank you again for all you are doing for our men and women the ladies....who are doing one of the greatest tasks there is....................Making our Soldiers feel wanted and needed and appreciated.

THANK YOU... Again..............Thank you for what you are doing to boost the morals of our Soldiers. A.S.

To the loving greeters in Maine:

Thank you so very, very much for the hospitality that you showed my son … I cry whenever I look at the photograph of the gentleman who was so kind as to look my son in the eyes and thank him. The good deeds that you do is salve for a mother's aching heart.

I love looking at the pictures of all you beautiful souls who make the effort to greet our service members. And I love looking into the faces of those dear soldiers. You may never know how many lives you have touched by your kindnesses. Think of the ripple effect!

Gratefully, L.D.

This is my husbands second deployment over there, but this time he leaves behind an 11 month old daughter whom he dearly misses, and we miss him.  Your work is just AWESOME, I visit this site often to see all the brave men and women that serve our great country.  When I think I have had a bad day, this puts things in perspective for me very quickly.  Thank you for all of your work!   Karin SantosI just wanted to thank you for what you are doing.  I heard about you from someone who's son-in-law just got shipped off and found your website.  Its so nice to see people who love our country as much as you do!  I have young children and try to instill in them how important it is to be proud that they live in this great country and how important it is to remember our troops.

Please keep up the good work!  L. H., Ohio

My husband came through thereon June 28 although he was not in any pictures he was hiding out talking to me on his cell) I just wanted to thank you! Its nice to know that there are people out there that help take care of our Guys when we can not be with them. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTON OF MY HEART for caring for our guys! This is my first deployment and knowing you were there to greet them meant a lot!

Thank you again B.T.

I thank you and the people of Maine that take your time to make our soldiers feel welcome and appreciated.  May God bless you all for the acts that you do.  I am sure that they appreciate it and as a grandmother of a loved one leaving for a year in Iraq this last bit of home love that we cannot give them is appreciated.

thanks again and God Bless you all J.P.

I wanted to thank you all for doing what you do at Bangor! My husband recently went through there and makes me feel so good that there where a group of people there that where supporting him and there to great him and say good bye! Thank you again, I cannot tell you how much this means to me and I am sure many other military wives!

J.N.

I appreciate what you are doing for the troops and think these pictures are great for the families.  I know as a previously deployed soldier, that the greetings you guys give to these soldiers make them proud to serve.

Again, thank you for what you ladies do!
Respectfully, CPT K.D.

Thank you very much for the pictures and know that you and your other friends will be in my prayers as well as all the soldiers that pass thru your care and loving support as they leave for a very difficult and dangerous time in there lives. May God bless them all and bring them safely home to there families soon thanks again J.P.

I just wanted to thank you ladies so very much. I live in Oklahoma and my son based at Ft. Lewis, WA just went thru Bangor, Maine on June 27th. My daughter-in-law emailed me the pictures of him on your web site. It was so wonderful to see his face once more before he went to Iraq. They where wonderful tears, and thank you so very much.  He is my only child and how I would love to keep him here you have to let them be their own person. Please pray for him and bring him home to me once more. He has a 6 month old son and a wonderful wife waiting for him back at home in Tacoma, WA. He has family in Concord, NH and Stillwater, OK. Thank you ladies again for the wonderful pictures of my sweet son, big heart and a great soldier! You ladies are doing a great job and I hope our guys thanked you for all you have done for them and the goodies! Thank you S. W.

My many thanks simply are not enough for what your group does for our soldiers as they make their journey to the Middle East. Many say that they support the troops but you all really do, by being there to wish them well. My Family Readiness Group Leader emailed me the information to get onto your web-site and I was able to see a photo that was taken of my husband. This is a second deployment to Iraq for us and while my husband and I are united together and will weather this deployment the same as the last, it is much more difficult on our children who are ages 9 and 4. They were so thrilled to see a picture of their Dad and it just overwhelmed me with pride and gratitude to see what your organization has done. It benefits so many, not just the soldier but the families that are left at home.

Thank you so much for your effort. N.H.

Hi, On june 28th you took some photos of the soldiers headed to Iraq. My husband with those soldiers on the second flight. I would like to thank you for taking those photos and meeting up with all of our soldiers who come through there. I think it really means a lot to them all. Ironically, my husband did not tell me about the photos. I found out from my FRG Leader. She sent me the link to your website. Just in case my soldier was in those photos. Just about the time I had decided that he was not. Then I found three photos of him. My heart swelled with pride. And I believe that you all helped to make dealing with his absence a little easier for me. For now I am positive that there are wonderful people like all of you to support our soldiers. They are the bravest of the brave in my book. All of them. Thank you so very much for all you do for the soldiers and wives like me. I just wanted to send a HUGE Thank You to you all. Thank You. J.D.

Keep it up, as a soldier I know what it feels like to be thanked for doing what we are so honored to do. People like you make it a little more bearable, especially on that trip.  Thank you

Hello in Maine!

What a welcome surprise to find out about your website (from our brigade's Family Readiness Group) and a HUGE lift to find my hubby in a picture -- in the act of dialing the phone to talk to me!

If you would send me his picture and the picture of his good friend, I would appreciate it very much.

I remember seeing your group in the news a year or two ago and thought "how nice." Getting the little jolt of pleasure seeing my husband is more than "nice" -- it's wonderful. And judging by how I feel just seeing his picture, I know the soldiers greatly appreciated your presence after a long flight and the sadness of saying goodbyes to their families.

A side note: I'm an avid scrapbooker and I just got my photos developed from the day He left. Now I'll have a lovely addition to that page -- a picture of him en route and a story about your terrific group and the countless hours you've spent spreading a little happiness and a lot of support to our soldiers.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! L.C.

To all of you supporting our troops,

I wanted to say thank you and let you know how wonderful it is to see so much support for our troops.  My son was recently deployed.  That is how i first heard of your group.   He was in maine on 6-28-06.  My prayers our with all the troops and their families and loved ones.  It is so nice to see the kindness of others who take an extra step to let them know they are not in this war alone.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Although we did not see a picture of our son and his buddies, my husband and i enjoyed all the other pictures.  God bless you all and keep up the good work.

Much love and thanks P.

Dear ladies,

I am the mom of a deployed soldier in Afghanistan.  Our troops traveled through your airport on their way home and I hope they will be returning through the same area.  I want to thank you for all your support during this past year and your prayers and devotion to our soldiers.  I cannot express what it has meant to know you are all there waiting for our soldiers and giving them one last hug before they leave, you will also be the first to greet them on their return home.  Again, many thanks for all your efforts.  We all truly appreciate and hopefully emulate all you are doing.

God Bless you all.  God Bless our Soldiers. Peace, D.H.

Hello there,

My husband was just deployed a few days ago to Iraq, he had a stop in Maine before heading out, and he called me and told me about you ladies taking pictures. I immediately checked out the website and immediately it warmed my heart what you ladies do. I think it is so wonderful, it really is warming to my heart to know that there are people out there like you all that care so much. He was in the airport there yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, I believe they left there around 5-6 pm. I am really hoping to see him in some of your pictures, I was wondering how long it will be until the pics from yesterday were posted on the website, I am very anxious! Thanks so much and God Bless. D.W.

I just wanted to thank you all for the great welcome you gave my husband and his squadron when they came through there on June 26. Your support was really meaningful to them especially since they were all a little sad from just telling their families goodbye. Thanks for your encouragement and the time you invest in our loved ones! Sincerely, D.P. 1/14 Cavalry 3rd Brigade Ft. Lewis

I just want to tell you what you ladies are doing is the greatest thing. My husband just left for Iraq last week, we have 3 children, and saying good BYE was the hardest thing in the world, especially with the children. A member of our FRG called me to let me know about your website and there was a picture of her husband on there so I went on there to see it and I was in tears from reading the letters to seeing the other links and hearing the songs and seeing the slide shows it was beautiful, literally. The support you have shown is amazing. You all deserve so much praise and thanks for everything you have done and are doing. I can't thank you enough. I will make sure I send your website to everyone in our FRG so they can see what I have. Again thank you for supporting my husband SSG Robert Swift, US Army while he is deployed.

Sincerely and many thanks M.S., Fort Lewis, WA

Hello to you all!  I have to tell you this is my husbands 2nd tour to Iraq for a year with the Stryker Brigade based out of Ft. Lewis, WA.  I don't remember seeing this on the first tour and can't tell you how amazing this is what you are doing.  You are truly a blessing and make a world of difference.  I wish I could be right by your side doing this!

Thank you very much for this beautiful gift you are bringing to them.  Again, you are all gifts from God. J.H.

Dear ladies,

What a wonderful organization and ministry you have! My good friend sent me your link so we could see pictures of her husband as he is on his way to Iraq. What a gift to be able to see him and for him to be able to call Paula and the boys from Maine. Thank you for caring enough about these soldiers, their families and our country to run such a thoughtful organization. May God bless you abundantly! K.W.

First of all I would really like to thank you guys for doing all that you do!! We are stationed at Ft Lewis WA and it is great to see people supporting the troops.  My husband was lucky enough to fly through Bangor ME on his way to Iraq and see this first hand.  The gates of Ft Lewis have become a protesting hot spot for the anti war activists and he told me himself that your presence at the airport was a morale booster for both him and his soldiers.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, E.M. 3-2 SBCT Wife

As a wife of one of the Soldiers who deployed in June to Afghanistan, I want to personally thank you for supporting our troops and taking such great care to let them know how appreciated their sacrifice is.  It's so reassuring to me to know that such patriotism remains alive and well in our country and the efforts of our troops and their families are appreciated.  You should know that many of the friends of our teenagers have found Frank's picture through web search and your website has reached the hearts of many teens here in Oregon.

If you are able, I would love to have a copy of the picture you took of my husband.  Again, thank you from the bottom on my heart.  G.F.

We heard from our daughter in law that our son landed there today and was greeted by you. It is awesome of you to give so much to our soldiers that are headed into a war zone. Thank you so much for the greeting, well wishes, and the phone so he could call his wife. God Bless all of you and thanks so much for thinking of others in such a trying time in their lives. You won’t be forgotten!  M.B.

To me it is a beautiful thing that The Freeport Flag Ladies realize and respect what our troops do for us.  You were there when my son and his unit were waiting for a flight to Kuwait and shortly after to begin a one year tour in Iraq.  They will be home safe in November this year God willing.  They lost one of their own and several wounded but in the last 2 months, so far so good.  I dont even watch the news because I can't handle hearing them put the slant the media so loves to do to make my son and his buddies look like something other than what they are, and that is 'Heroes'.  My son put it simply, in an email to me, he said 'Mom, when I get my life back......" and that little phrase is huge, and means so much.  He has literally given a year up of his young life to do the job he must do on our behalf.   So I thankyou for being there to see him off on this journey.  You are prob the last friendly faces from US soil they have seen before they left.  And that means so much to us, their family.  Hugs, Debbie, a Soldiers mom and friend

My husband just left for Afghanistan last weekend.  One of my friends told me about your site, so I decided had to check it out.  Right away I found a picture of my husband and his beautiful smile on your site.  I just wanted to thank you for what you are doing for our soldiers and our country.  It really meant a lot to me to know that there were people waiting for him in Maine that really cared about these soldiers and what they are doing.  It also made my day to unexpectedly see his face on your site.  Thank you so much for what you doing for our soldiers and their families.  Your web site has been a real blessing to me and my family. Thank you, H.E.

My son was deployed from Fort Lewis, Washington on Monday June 26th. I just want to thank you for being there with a smiling face and a warm welcome. Knowing that there are angels such as you out there makes smile for him. You guys keep up the good work and know that we parents are most appreciative of your efforts.

God bless each of you! D.S. in South Carolina

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

I had to write and tell you what a wonderful surprise I had this evening. I had dinner tonight with a friend whose husband is a soldier in the 108th Divison, U.S. Army, along with my husband. She told me about your website. l logged on as soon as I got home, not expecting to see my husband but maybe see someone I recognized from the flight that landed in Bangor on June 18 (first flight). There, in the middle of a group of soldiers, is my handsome husband. He had no idea the picture was even taken. I can't tell you how much seeing his face means to me and our daughter.

I've been fortunate enough to talk with him a few times since he's been overseas, and he told me about the wonderful welcome they received in Bangor. He couldn't believe that the airport was filled with so many warm and welcoming faces. It was the middle of the night when his plane arrived, yet there you were. I hope you can see by the photos on your website what a huge impact your selflessness, support and encouragement means to the soldiers. I also want you to know how much your efforts mean to those who love these soldiers.

God bless you, Flag Ladies, and all those who help you. I can't thank you enough. D.K.

You were wonderful as a last look at the states for a year. I am currently in Iraq and was in Bangor on 15 April 2006. It was great to see how many Americans support the military. I just wanted to say thank you very much and that I hope all is well with everyone in your group. I will email you pictures when I get them on the computer. Again THANK YOU!!! A.W.

Dear Ladies,

The phrase thank you does not mean enough when it come to what you do. My husband has be sent to help with the war efforts in Iraq and while we are not stranger to good-byes this time was incredibly hard. I am 31 weeks pregnant and feeling a little worried about the upcoming weeks. After he left yesterday I drove home and began my long wait for a call to tell me he was alright. To my surprise I was able to hear his voice a lot sooner then I thought I would and all thanks to you. I got to hear him reassure me that all will be well and hear those words that always seem to take forever between then next time....I LOVE YOU! To top it off he explained that you took his photo while talking to me and will post it on your web site. Once it is on there he will be just one click away from me.

     B. was overwhelmed by the amount of support that they received while there. He stated many times on the phone what wonderful people you are and how your group made him proud to be a member of the service. The community that we live in is not always the most supportive of the troops. To find a place that makes them boost with prides especially right before their arrival to carry out the mission at hand brought reassurance to my husband and no doubt countless others their with him.

Though a simple picture and phone call may not seem like much to some, they are little miracles that make time go buy quicker and a person rest easier at night. May God Bless you and allow you to keep doing the wonderful thing you do. Sincerely, S.W.

We received your wonderful gift of yum-yums just before the weekend.  I delivered them to the department where the soldiers come in to be assessed when they are fresh from the helicopter or airplane from Iraq and Afghanistan.  The soldiers are young, hurt, and scared, and your goodies always perk them up.

You ladies are refreshing, and I am thankful that you are there for us.  God Bless You! CPT M.L.

I just wanted to thank you ladies for supporting our troops. i found my husbands picture on your website, when he arrived at Maine.. I really apprieciate what ya'll are doing. it was awesome seeing a picture of my husband. i am so proud of our guys, all of the military actually. it gets hard being here with out him, we have two baby girls. one of them is Katie, she's 15 months old, and Sarah, 3 months old. I know it's hard for my husband too. when we talk he usually doesn't like to talk about home too much, i guess it upsets him, but i don't know. but if ya'll will, pray for him, and me so that i can raise these babies good and saintly. Pray for all of the men and women. but anyways, thank you all very much. God Bless, T.M.

I would first and foremost like to extend my heartfelt thanks for what you are doing. Words cannot convey my feeling and this e-mail is difficult because I am having difficulty reading the keys... My brother is one of the soldiers you greeted and befriended. He has a wife and five daughters back home in Oregon. We are all very proud of him and all the others that have gone before him and will continue on afterwards.

I would appreciate if you could e-mail the original pictures to me. His picture will be next to my two sons; one a United States Marine and the other, a soon to be Petty Officer on a Nuclear Submarine, being deployed today.

Our prayers are with you all and especially for Elaine. May God continue to bless and keep you all and cause His Light to shine on you and all you do. Warmest regards and prayers, D.R.

What you are doing for our guys as they leave is wonderful. My husband dropped me a line about your site and I think that it so amazing to see all the families that you are able to touch and make such a difference in their lives .  I'm writing to request a pic. of the man of my life for over 18yrs and to see his handsome face was such a blessing If you could pease E-Mail me a copy of the pic it would be just wonderful, He is the tall most handsomest man standing in front of the Desert Shield wall.

Thank You ladys once again and I pray that God will bless each one of you for all that you are doing for our soldiers, all the little things that you do and say and give of your self is put in a special place in te men and womens lives I know that it sure meant a great deal to my husband that since we were not able to be there to see him off that someone was there to say" Good Bye and that we believe in you and what you are going to do"

Thank You three once again and I am putting you all in my prayers for what you do is also A very special service to our country too. God Bless C. McD

I received this note, filtered through the old Boy Scout network, from my friend and OA Lodge Brother, Capt. C. G.  He is presently in Kazhakistan, awaiting deployment to Afgahnistan.  Where things are a bit on the warm side at the moment.  We are all saying our prayers and sending a lot of well-meant, but probably useless, advice to Chris.

He was obviously touched by the kindness you showed to him and the other troops who visited briefly with you before departure. Since you don't enjoy the privilege of having known him for many years, you wouldn't know that he doesn't impress easily.  But what you folks do for our people in uniform is very kind.  And obviously is appreciated by all those you touch.  I just thought that you should know that.

And your efforts are much appreciated by those of us with loved ones deployed overseas as well.  Bless you and thank you for taking care of my Brother Chris. Sincerely, S.N.
