Letters from Families & Troops

Hello,

First I just wanted to thank you ladies for what you do! I was on the phone with my husband when he was in Maine, and he just couldn’t say enough about how good it made the soldiers feel to have people their waiting to show them their gratitude for what they do. You are a special group of

people to take the time out of your day to make these soldiers feel appreciated.

Thank You, RD

I just wanted to thank you for all that you do for ALL the troops. Our husbands were on flight 3 June 10, 2009 from Mississippi. It meant so much to them and us to have you there to welcome them, You are incredible women and I would like to thank you. We feel that they had such wonderful people surrounding them and if it couldn’t be us, you were such a great welcome for them all.

Thank you again

Proud Army Wife

Girls, you just about made me cry.... My son was one of the Marines who came through on June 11th... He sent me a text with your web address.  The photos aren't posted yet, but I know how long it takes.  Thanks so much for doing this.  I just wanted to write to you to say thanks so much for what you do for these men and women who are headed into harm's way.  What big hearts you must have.  God Bless you 10,000 times.  I wish I lived in Bangor, I would join you, I promise!

I love your T-shirts!!

Love to you all, and to all the others who work with you -

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you ladies for all that you do.  You are all heroes in my eyes and my husband’s eyes as well.  He deployed May 2009 and called me from the Bangor airport and told me to go to your website to see pictures of him.  I had forgotten the information that he gave me until a today.  As I was looking through your pictures I began to cry, tears of joy.  This was the first time in a month that I had seen his face.  The last time I saw him we were both crying and not wanting to leave each other.  But today I saw a smile on his face and I knew that he was ok and that he along with his fellow soldiers were fighting our fight for us and proud that they do.  I am one lucky woman to be married to such a brave and wonderful man.  I am proud to me called his wife!  Thank you again for all that you do to support the troops.  A last minute friendly smile before departure to battle makes them all remember just what they are fighting for.

God Bless to each and everyone of you!

I would like to thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for the care package you sent us last month.  All of the items were distributed throughout the Platoon.  My friends and I would like to thank you very much for your kindness and generosity.  You are truly an inspiration to us all.

Good morning ladies;

I just returned from a mission, and to my surprise, there were two care packages from you all. Thank you! I've already put about half of the crossword books out for Marines to grab and I'm planning on sending an

email out about the candy when more people are in their offices. (Of course that might be a bad idea since my office could possibly be swarmed...)

Also thank you for the CD inside.

Sincerely,

Lance Cpl. B. A. M.

I just wanted to take a moment and let you know how much my brother really appreciated all that you ladies did on the day he deployed.  He deployed to Afghanistan on May 22nd and called me when he was at the airport telling me all about the ladies and vets that were at the airport to see them off.  He said it was like what you see in the movies when troops come home from battle.  He was completely taken by surprise that people actually cared enough to see them off, people that had never met them wanted to show their support for his service.  He was actually talking to me on the phone when the pic on here was taken-he was telling me all about what was going on and then he was like-"a lady just took a pic of me-make sure you get a copy of it!"

So all and all-I think it is truly a wonderful thing that your organization organizes these send offs.  It truly means a great deal to these service men and women.  It's nice and comforting to know that someone cares enough to meet them and send them off when most of their families can't be at the final send off or the first return location!  Thank you so much for your support of my brother and all the service men and women!

I had never heard of you gals until today. and I have spent the past 3 hours mesmerized by your page. You ladies have a lot to be proud of!

My best friend since junior high school just saw her husband for the last time for at least a year last week! She shared the lovely pictures that you took of his unit from the airport and she cried tears of joy! Utter JOY!! She was having a hard time dealing with him going to Iraq. They have been married for will be 6 years and they have 2 children a girl that is 5 and a boy that is 2. They both have birthdays in September, so there for he will miss both of the birthdays physically, but in spirit and the best of his capability he will be there!

I can ramble on all day about them. They ALL mean the world to me and are more like family. So I got my own personal effect when I saw the pictures. THANK YOU!!! I live in West Virginia and if I ever make it to Maine on a Tuesday... you bet I will be there with you! Amber and I may have to make a trip there sometime while Tracey is on deployment... He was with the 99th that you saw out on May 25th (Memorial Day.. that was hard to accept sending your husband to a dangerous area on such a day!) But THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! We are making our own lil packages and sending to his unit while they are gone.

Dear ladies,

My husband and I just arrived home from Colorado after seeing our son deployed for the 1st time.  After saying our tearful goodbyes, we started back to Indiana.   On our way home he called us from Bangor and told us about you taking pictures and he gave us the web site.

We were quite amazed by the nice pictures that you took.   We had met some of the other soldiers that were in the pictures too and I'm sure they all have a story to tell too.

If you could send a copy or two we would forever be grateful.  You are doing such a great job!!

Thank you!!  Thank you!!  Thank you!!

Hello Ladies,

I would first like to thank you for all that you do there in Bangor Maine. My husband's planes have stopped there on each of his tours to Iraq and now on his way to Afghanistan. He has always been so taken back by the warm welcome, thanks and support that he and his troops have received there. You would not believe what a difference all of you make! I cannot thank you enough for all you do to support our soldiers!

Today, the morning of May 20th (Wednesday), my husband called me to let me know that they landed safe there in Bangor. He was on a plane with about 20 other troops from the 4th ID from Fort Carson, Colorado. He told me when he called that someone with the Freeport Flag Ladies had taken a picture of him while he was on the phone with me and I would be able to go to your website to see it. I went to the website and clicked around, but was unable to find any pictures from today. I realize that you may not have had the opportunity to post pictures from today. Could someone please email me and let me know about when you think you might post these pictures and where on the website I might find them. It would really help my children feel better seeing a picture of their daddy and knowing that he is ok.

Again, thank you so much for all that you do. We are so blessed both as a country and as a family to have such wonderful people supporting our troops.

Thank you and God Bless!

MT

Ms Elaine,

Thank you again very much for your kindness.  The care package that you sent to us here, reached us yesterday.  I distributed all the items to my battle buddies.  They all say thank you and they appreciate all you have done for us.  We will keep you updated with our progress.  Once again, thank you very much

Ladies,

I just wanted to thank you for all the recent pictures you took of some of the Marines who pasted thru the Maine airport.

What you do is a wonderful thing and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have given me a gift no one else would be able to give me;

glimpses of my son as he takes his journey to defend this wonderful country of ours. All the pictures are so wonderful! I know a number of moms who also have seen their sons in these recent pictures. We all give you a big thank you for your time and dedications to our military.

Thank you again for all you do.

Thank you for the wonderful work you do!  I have waited anxiously for a glimpse at photo of my son leaving for Afghanistan, since the day of deployment is but a blur for me.  Seen these pictures make me accept that he is gone for a while but that HE WILL be back soon.

It is comforting to know that there are so many family members and, people like you, who care about our troops and our country enough to sacrifice for our freedom.

Best Regards and God Bless you all and the outstanding work you are doing for our military!

Thank you sooo much!

Ladies,

I just wanted to pass on to you that my husband may be passing through your area again soon.  He will be returning to New Jersey on Monday, and I found out that I will be able to welcome him home some time after he lands.

I wanted to thank you again for all you do for the soldiers, for your encouraging words, support, dedication, and sacrifices.  I will never forget it. Although, who knows, you may run into him again, possibly in August or September for other deployments.  So far there is no definite word on either of those.  One day, I hope I will be able to repay you in some small way for everything you do.

Again thanks, MAM

My husband recently deployed to Afghanistan and on May 20 2009 you ladies were there to greet him in Maine.  Words cannot begin to express my gratitude at what you ladies are doing for our soldiers.  This is my Husbands second tour and our first together it has been extremely hard on the both of us.  He called me in tears after speaking with you and told me how you guys were just so nice and really made him feel better about going over there.  So thank you once again from the bottom of my heart you ladies are doing such a wonderful thing.

Dear ladies

I just wanted to thank you for the care you took of my son while he was in your area.   It was also a great joy to see pictures of him.  Words really are not enough for what you do.   We have three young men in the military; out of the three he is the first to be deployed.   We could not be prouder.

Cathie

You have no idea how much it meant to my wife and me to see pictures of our son and his colleagues at Pease late Sunday evening (May 18) during their refueling stop.  He was so excited when he called at midnight to tell us of this great surprise and how overwhelmed everyone was as a result of your time and generosity.  We have copied several pictures from your collection and sent them to friends.

This is his third deployment, and the work you do is enormously appreciated, not only by our troops, but also by parents, siblings, and friends as well.

May God bless you in this effort. BM

Dear Ladies,

I just wanted to thank you so much for meeting our USMC MP Company in New Hampshire. My husband who is C.O. of the company has been in the service for 23 years, and on his 9th deployment, 3 of which were to Iraq, and now on to Afghanistan. Out of all of those years he has NEVER been welcomed by a group before !! It meant so much to him and his Marines to be sent off by American's who had no personal knowledge of them but were just proud of their service to our Nation. You put a smile on each one of their faces after leaving their families behind. That was no small task and I will be forever grateful to your organization for the time you took in the middle of the night to make our Marines feel their country was behind them all the way.

Forever in your dept, M.S.

Proud USMC Wife

Thank You so much for taking all of these wonderful pictures and sending them out to us - the families and the friends of our brave soldiers!  My girlfriend and I sat by the computer with tears in our eyes as we watched each soldier walk by the clapping hands, smiling faces, waving flags.  It was so good to see them all, and so good to see others showing their appreciation for their service!  Thank you to your group, thank you to you and to everyone who came out to the send off!

Sincerely,

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!

You have no idea how much your meeting and sending off the troops spoke volumes to our grandson.  He was so amazed and excited by your display of kindness and support.

You will never be forgotten!

Dear Flag Ladies,

My name is SB I am the wife of Sgt. NB of USMC Squadron VMA 214. I wanted to write you a quick thank you for what you ladies are doing. Being able to see my husband in these pictures on your site really made my day. It is so heart warming to see Americans appreciate men and women such as my husband who are having to leave their family and friends behind to defend our freedom. It is often taken for granted and I wanted you to know that to the wives/husbands and children left behind to miss and wait for their safe return, really appreciate seeing their faces.

Thanks again, and may God Bless you and our troops.

I just got a call from my Marine son.  He left from Yuma, AZ today going to Afghanistan.  He was so amazed at your thoughtfulness when he was greeted by your group at the airport in New Hampshire.  I was so excited to hear his excitement in his voice.  There are so many people that do not appreciate our military for what they do. Sometimes to hear the comments hurt us, because we know what our sons and daughters go through to protect our country and us. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS.  It's Mother's Day and today was hard for me, his father and little brother. We did not get to see him today. If you can, please let me know when the pictures are posted of our troops.  We appreciate you for all that you do.  Is there anything like this in Little Rock, AR?  If not, can we help in getting something started.

Good Morning, Ladies. I first want to thank you for all that you do for our soldiers. My soldier flew through Bangor on April 19th and I can tell by the look on his face in his pics that you guys made him feel safe and relaxed at a very tense moment in his life and for that I thank you. I am grateful for your heartfelt support of our troops. It is a true labor of love. May your blessings be many for the work that you do.

I am writing to thank you and to request some pictures God Bless You,

CCR

I just wanted to thank you for what you ladies do. My husband deployed on April 16, 2009. He called me from the Airport in Maine. I came to your website and found some pictures of him. I was so happy. It really help me because I was having a hard time with him leaving because I didn't get to see him leave, they had us say goodbye to them very quickly and then they left for Green Ramp and we weren't allowed to go. For a week it was like he was just in training or at work and I was waiting for him to come home but when I saw these Pictures it really helped me with letting him go. I cried but it was Happy tears, knowing there was someone there to greet them.

I really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for you taking time out of you day and meeting the troops. That is so gracious and I can't even put it into words of how wonderful you all are! This is such an amazing organization! Our Troops really need more people that are there for them and appreciate what they do. The families are very appreciative to know that there is someone there when they can't be! This means so much to all the Soldiers, Families and All that are involved!

Thank You Very Much,

A beautiful message once again.  I always think of you ladies as being on the hill for our soldiers and I know that having done so, non stop, for over 7 yrs now, you have left your spirit and your love there even if you couldn't be there personally.  Congratulations to Elaine the lady with the sweet sweet words and one who is a hero for my son and many other mother's sons.  DF

You go Freeport flag ladies……. how awesome is that!!!!!!!  Elaine you and all of the Freeport flag ladies just don’t know the lives that you have touched.  During my darkest hours you shined a ray of light on me by sending me a picture of my smiling son on his way to Iraq.  When he left for his second tour in Iraq during our goodbye in the driveway of our home, my son was shaking to contain his emotions.  He would not break down and cry but held his head high and knew what he had to do.  Then, I get a picture of him smiling and that picture is what got me trough his last deployment.  That was over a year ago, today he is back home in the use and he has almost completed his marine military contract.  Thanks for doing what you do and you all are well deserving.

MS, Knoxville, TN

God Bless you wonderful women.  Congratulations Elaine.  You are all heroes in my heart.

I hear from my son in Iraq frequently.  He is experiencing dust storms at the moment.  He says he is kept busy and misses his four little boys ages 3 years to ll years. He enjoys your emails I forward on to him. Thank you for your love and unselfish caring you are showing our military treasurers.

You are doing what every mother and wife would be doing if we could.

Love to you all, NS

My fiancé’s picture is the April 19th flight at 11:30pm … He certainly needed morale boost that night, he left us in North Carolina and of course we were in tears as he left.  Plus he knew that the next day I had to make an 8-hour trip back to West Virginia with my daughter.  So he was very worried about us and you ladies being there helped boost his spirits.  This is his second tour to Iraq, and unfortunately this is my first experience with this. So I've been trying to find ways to keep busy and not worry and cry so much :)

This whole experience has been exhausting, and I'm hoping that it will get better with time. Seeing that picture helped me out so much.  I certainly hope that they pass through Maine again when they come home.  They are expected to be coming home in Feb 2010, or at least that's what we're hoping for!!!!  Thank you for the prayers, we are praying very hard and will continue to do so until we can wrap our arms around him again.

Thank you again for your efforts and just everything that you do and have done.

God Bless!!!!

Jennifer

Dear Carmen, Elaine, & Joanne

I recently viewed your website, and I was so excited to see pictures of our company!!  You have one of my husbands and I would really love it if you could e-mail it to me.  Imp s glad you ladies were there to greet them and take pictures!!  It really helps the wives and mothers here at home.  Again thank you so much.

KF

Good morning ladies, it makes me feel proud of what you guys have been able to accomplish and your dedication since 911.  I can only think of how many lives you have touched and what it means to our soldiers stopping on their way across the ocean.  You truly are the heroes.  Thanks for all that you do.  MSG TM

Dear Ladies,

My Fiancée said goodbye to us on the 19th and arrived safely to you that same night in Bangor.  He called me to give me the link to your website.  I just saw his picture up there today and I cried to see his smiling face. I cannot thank you enough for doing everything that you do.  You ladies must have the biggest hearts ever to go and meet with our troops and tell them thank you.  You also gave me a piece of mind to see him sitting there smiling.  My daughter was so excited to see a picture of him after he departed from us on his way to Iraq.  There are no words to describe how wonderful it was to see that picture, and there are even fewer words to express my gratitude to you.  I have it saved to my computer desktop and I see his smiling face every time I turn it on.... all thanks to you.

Women like you are a good reminder to the country as to just how wonderful it is to be an American. I wish there were more people out there like you!!  I have met so many people who look down on our troops and have no respect for what they are doing or what they stand for. You have showed me that not all hope is lost, and there are people out there who really do care.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.  May God Bless you all and keep your efforts going strong!!!

Hi,

My husband deployed on April 16th, 2009. He called and told me about "The Flag Ladies" at the Airport and the "Lucky Pennies". It is amazing what you do and we are very appreciative of it. Thank you for the support to our troops.

From the heart of a Marine Mom, thank you for what you are doing for our troops.  My youngest son, SSgt JA came though the Bangor International Airport on his way to Iraq in September of 2008.  He and the Fox Company Marines returned through Bangor on April 15, 2009.  Since we, as parents, can’t be there, I am so glad someone was to welcome my son and the other Marines home.  It makes me feel better knowing that when their feet touched US soil, they were greeted by people who really care.  May God bless you for what you are doing for our young heroes.

Sincerely, CC

Ladies,

My name is SPC GE of the U.S. Army Fighting Deuce Battalion, 5/52 HHB.  On March 4th of this year, on our way to our current deployment in the Middle East, we had the pleasure of stopping in Bangor, Maine.  I was richly surprised to see the support that your organization has given us.  Your friendly faces and well wishes made our trip so pleasant.  The pictures that were posted on the website helped our families know that we were well taken care of in Maine.  Again, I would like to thank you whole-heartedly.

Very Respectfully,

Hi! I just wanted to write and let you all know how much I appreciate your faithfulness. How much time you put into supporting the troops and how dedicated you are to them. Just wanted all of you to know how much that means to all the troops and their families!!! While my husband was in active duty like many others he was deployed to Iraq for a long 15 months. Your website and emails meant so much to me. He has been home from Iraq since June of last year. He is now National Guard. I am so grateful that he returned safely home to me, and I feel the hurt of all the wives that are still going through deployment. Keep it up ladies, for you touch more lives than you could ever know!!!

EK

Hello Ladies,

First, I would like to thank you for your outstanding work.  This is my first deployment as an army wife, and seeing such great acts for our troops is very encouraging.  Thanks for all you do!

I would like to request the pictures from April 9, 2009 at Bangor airport (army). … I would really appreciate these photographs.  I have 3 children, and I have been doing projects at the schools to introduce the children to community involvement.  They would love to see these pictures as well as our family.

Again, thank you so much for all you do

I still have the penny you Ladies gave me. You Ladies are doing great things.

I called my wife that night after you took those pictures and she was thrilled to death to see a close up shot of just me.

Carmen, Elaine and JoAnn,

Hello ladies,

Just a quick note to let you know how much your time was appreciated, not to mention the wonderful photos. I'm in the US Air Force and was passing through 22 Mar.09 Flight 2 with the Army.  Your work is one of the best signs of patriotism I've seen in my 14-year career. For that I say Thank you!!

Also, if you wouldn’t mind emailing a few of your pix so I can send them to my family. Hope to see you all again in Oct.

Thank you ladies again for all you do and thank you for YOU!

Best Wishes,

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

Your perseverance and steadfastness is to be admired. I send your weekly emails on to my son for his unit in Iraq. I know it means a lot to them to know that as they held fast to their mission, you are doing the same. We are all greatly for your dedication!

KR

Aloha,

My husband was greeted by you on March 22, 2009.

To begin, I would like to say that I appreciate you all being there and sitting and talking with these young Marines.  I feel confident that it gives them a feeling of home prior to their departure to fight for their country.  You ladies stay busy. I looked at your website and was amazed!  Thank you.  Thank you from my family and for the families that don’t even realize you are out there.

Thank you again for all your time and care.

Dear Ladies, I just wanted to let you know that my son, Paul, is coming home from Iraq April 30. It has meant so much to me that I have a picture of him that you took when he left and all the e-mails you send weekly. You are an inspiration to me, and I can't thank you enough for all you do for our troops, Thank you so much, MaryLee

Ladies and the gentlemen who help:We were just directed to you site last night by our daughter-in-law, and saw fantastic pictures of the March 3, 2009, departure of our son's unit to Afghanistan   It really touches one deeply to realize that there are Americans who yet care and reach out to our troops.  I have tears in my eyes as I write to thank each of you for your kindness to our Stuart and his friends.   He called from Afghanistan this a.m. and I told him of viewing your site.   His reply was,

If we pass through there on the way back home, I want to give those ladies a big hug.   Thank you, thank you, thank you for reaching out and encouraging those dear men and women.

God bless you all ---richly, as you give of yourselves to these military people.

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

I have the utmost appreciation and respect for you!  You are absolutely amazing!  Thank you, a thousand times over, thank you!!!!!

My son Joshua, was greeted by you on January 29th, 2009 at Bangor International Airport!  You took his picture!!!  Oh my gosh...I couldn't believe it!!  It thrilled me to see his face captured by your camera.  Sorry he was chewing...nasty habit...lol!  In the photo, he was talking to his wife on the phone...they'd only been married four months when he left that day.

We've placed him in God's hands and therefore in the best of care.  Would you please email me his photo?

I will cherish it always.  Thank you for being there!

With my sincerest appreciation, JK

Thank You All,

Although I didn’t see my husband in any pictures, (he is camera shy) I wanted to send a sincere thank you to you ladies.   It is always comforting to know that there are still people in this country who care about our soldiers, despite political views.   These men and women are still contributing members of our community and all have families that care for and love them.  Thank you for recognizing this.   It means so much to me.

AA

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there when these young men and women leave to go overseas.  My son is in the 82nd Airborne unit and to know that he was given such a warm welcome and farewell warms my heart.  You ladies truly are very special.

If it is at all possible, would you please send me via e-mail the pictures that he is in?

I'll understand if you can't send all of them, but I would truly appreciate it if you could.  I am having a hard time adjusting, and seeing him smile when he saw you all makes me smile through my tears.  My Mom told him about a documentary that was shown at the Cleveland Film Festival about your group and he was looking forward to seeing you.

Thank you for everything you do.  You all are an inspiration to me and I will let my family and friends know where they can visit the website and make donations to help.

Sincerely, K O-C

As a mother of a soldier on his first deployment, my heart was warmed when Adam called me and told me how his group was met in Maine. I want to say thank you to each and every one of you for your kindness and dedication to our service men and women. It means a lot to them to feel so cared for.  Again, I extend my deepest gratitude. May God bless you.

My husband SSG EP came through Bangor Maine late on April 9, 2009.   He told me of your website before he left the country and after visiting and seeing the wonderful things you all are doing I am deeply touched.   Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to see the guys off.  We last saw him at Ft. Bragg when his plane ascended at approx. 9PM on 4/9/09 and these last glimpses of him in Maine help us hang on a little longer until we see him again.

I just wanted to drop a quick line and thank you all SO much for what you do to support our troops.  My husband was one of the men who came thru this past week on his way out for deployment.  Your support, warmth and kindness meant much to him and the others.  And it was great to see their photos, including his, with smiles all about!!

Thank you all again and God Bless you!

Ladies,

I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the box you just sent me. It was filled with Easter eggs, grass, window clings, a red teddy bear, and a bunch of Easter candy. So much stuff! I am like the Easter Bunny, sharing a lot of the goodies with others too. Some people I have shared with have wondered if there is any way to contact the person that had written their message. I appreciate you all so much, when I first met you all in Maine, I was just blown away by all the good stuff you all do there, sending us off onto our great adventures. I am in Iraq, settling in good here. Before I know it, it will be time for me to come home and I hope I come through there again, so I get to see you and share with you stuff that has been happening here. We really are making a difference, and the support we get from home, and from you all means so much! Thank you for keeping in touch with my Mom, she enjoys hearing from you all too. Thanks again!

With a grateful heart,

MSG DJ

Dear Ladies,

My daughter is a Marine and deployed on March 14th.  She called me from the Bangor airport to tell me about some ladies who were giving out "lucky pennies" and were taking photos of the Marines.

Thank you for supporting our Troops!  The photos gave me a chance to see her before she left.  There is a photo of my daughter that I particularly liked.  Could you please email me the uncut version?  In the photo she is talking on her cell phone.

My daughter will not have much "down" time while deployed.  Her one request was to have DVD's to watch on her computer.  She asked for happy movies -- nothing depressing.

You are a wonderful organization!  Thanks for being there for our Troops!

Sincerely, TF

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies:

My son was one of the Marines you greeted on Sunday morning at 5:00 in Bangor.  He called me soon after he landed to tell me the Freeport Flag Ladies and some Veterans had greeted their plane when it landed.  He was so pleased that someone was there to say hello and thank you.  I was very comforted to know there were some substitute moms in the group to say hi and offer a smile to my son since I couldn’t be there personally.  I went onto your website today and saw pictures of Owen taken on Sunday.  It made me feel closer to him seeing the smile on his face.

Thank you for this selfless act.  It truly has a big impact on the soldiers, sailors and Marines heading into or from harm’s way and it comforts the family members who can’t be there in person.  Keep up the good work!

I am sending this email to let all 3 of you know how much things like this mean to soldiers and their family. I am a very proud Army wife and my husband is on his third tour to Iraq. We are stationed in Ft. Hood, TX. and have been for 9 years. He is a SFC and has been in for 15 years. He has made a decision to go 30 years instead of 20. We have 5 children that are between the ages of 12 and 2. Living near a military post, very rare does my husband get a "thank you", "great job", etc. It is unbelievable how many people are not aware of just how important our service members are.  When my husband left in Dec it was told to us that we would be able to view pictures of their stop in Maine.  How awesome. I cried like a baby. It was such an honor to see my husband being greeted by all of these wonderful people. When he kissed us goodbye and got onto that bus at 2 am, I couldn’t help but wonder how he felt with none of us there to support him. But after seeing his pictures, and the big smile that I love so much, I was at peace. And I owe it to people like you guys!!! Keep up the great work!! We need more of you guys in this world!!!

HOOAH!!

Proud Army Wife

Hello, my husband just left last Saturday for Afghanistan.... I was sent the link to your pictures and there he was my hubby smiling with you girls... You don’t know it but you met him before WAY BACK WHEN on his way back from Kuwait, WHAT A BLESSING! Thank you I needed a smile today and I got it form the pictures... my mother has been in the hospital back in NY (I love in Ca) since last Saturday also, so needless to say things have been horrible.  BUT TODAY>>>>> IM SO GRATEFUL.

Thankyou for doing what you do

GB

Ladies, I find myself in Afghanistan and the ceremonies we hold for fallen service Members are far too many. Too many young kids who will not get the chance to see the way they have changed the world. When you look into the eyes of the locals you see a people who have never known the liberties granted by the sacrifices made of such great humans. I only hope that someday, they will give thanks to those who came from the other side of the world to free the oppressed. I thank you all for being people who do understand that and so much more. Stay warm, its only getting to 80 here.

Thank you for your tribute to our Fallen Soldiers today.  It means so much to us that our soldiers are not forgotten.  You ladies are an inspiration to us all!

God Bless you all each and every day, LV

Dear Ladies:

As the mother of one of the Army military whose pictures you took on March 18th, I am so impressed with your efforts, greeting them and wishing them well.  In this day and age, such patriotism isn't always being shown.

Thank you for your efforts, and God Bless you all.

I just wanted to say thank you for all you do!  My husband was greeted by your group on March 18th (Army flight #2).  My family and I appreciate all that you do to meet and greet these soldiers and to let them have a nice stopover and especially thank you for the pictures - they really made me feel that even though they were only part of the way to Middle East they were appreciated.

Thank You Again,

SE

Thank you for the email. I really appreciate that you would send me the picture you took and more that you might have. I love this one of him. You are right when you said it makes the family feel better just seeing him. I had to get my husband to send it from his site, because I couldn't bring it up from my site. I printed it out and carry it in my wallet to show my friends and family. We don't get many pictures of him smiling. He is always is so serious looking. I guess it's being in the military does it. Again thank you so much. You ladies are truly great.

Love and God Bless you all,

Ellen

Dear Ladies,

A heart felt thank you for your patriotism and support of our troops.  Our son and his Marine brothers traveled through your town and received a warm greeting from your group.  It was the first thing he mentioned when he arrived in the Sand Box.

In a time of national confusion and uncertainty, it is comforting to know that there are still Americans who are grateful for our troops and the sacrifices they make for their country.

With appreciation and thanks,
The W’s

Good morning ladies, hope all is well on your side. I would greatly appreciate if you could send me some photos that I saw on your site. It is a wonderful thing what you all do. you have put a smile on my face just to be able to see my loved one again, especially cuz he was talking to me on the phone when you took this picture.

Thank you so much and hope to hear from you soon E.

Dear Ladies,

I can't tell you how much what you do means me and my family. My brother is a Marine and was just deployed to Iraq. A friend told us about your website and we were elated to see a photo of my brother on his way to Iraq. It's the best picture I have seen of him in a long time. You even got him to smile! I love you all from the bottom of my heart. You are very special women and I applaud your generosity and patriotism. Your website makes my heart swell with pride for our soldiers, your support and for the privilege of being and American! Thank you all so much!

Sincerely,

HT

Dear Flag Ladies,

Thank you SO much for what you do. I was able to see pictures of my husband and members of his unit in the Bangor pictures from March 14th. It was a relief to know they weren't lonely. I truly appreciate the fact that when I can't physically be there for him, someone else will step up to the plate and try to make life just a little more comfortable, AND that you all take pictures is such a blessing. Now all I'm missing is his voice until he can reach Iraq.

Thank you again for everything you do.

Much Love & God Bless, MB

Ladies,

I just want to give my gratitude and thanks to your organization.  My brother, Cpl LM, arrived at the airport amidst clapping and cheering!  He said it was a great boost to their moral.  It meant so much to him.  And it means so much to our family that you were able to be there and support him and his fellow soldiers when we couldn't be there ourselves.  Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy lives to support our troops.  What a fantastic idea to be there for these men and women when so many people don't even care!!!!  And thank you so much for the pictures!!!!!  I can't thank you enough.  I can't even begin to tell you what it has meant to me and the rest of our family!

Keep up the good work!  And many thanks!!

I was just wondering if I could get the print of my husband, March 14, Thanks so much, and thank you for all that y'all do for our guys! It makes it so much easier to know that they are well taken care of along their way.

Thanks, JM

I saw my son!  Thank you SO much for everything you do--and especially for your time and effort in taking and posting the pictures.  It means so much to me to see pictures of my son as he leaves American soil.

His name is Rick, and he's been in the Marines for 6 years.  This is his first deployment, and he is very glad to FINALLY be going overseas.  He called me from the airport in Bangor, and told me to watch for the pictures.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

To all who greet and send our young and old off to the war,

I would like to thank each and every person that takes the time from their lives to make each of these Patriots feel loved on their journey out of country. My son is presently in Iraq and will be returning in May as best we can tell. My Son-in-law is in the picture of the Marines listed as Flight 1, March 14, 2009.

It makes me proud to see the smiles and warmth they must feel for what we ask them to do for us and our country. As a veteran of the war in Southeast Asia I can tell you what it means to come home or leave and have the country not support you. I returned through San Francisco in October of 1969 and it was not a pleasant experience, after a year away from home and family to be treated like we did something wrong.

God Bless each and everyone of you,

Truly Grateful, LRK III

Thank you ladies so much.  My son was in the group of Marines you greeted on March 14, 2009.  We got to see his picture 8 times on your website.  It was so great to see him and his fellow Marines appreciated for the sacrifices they are making for our Country.

I just can't express what it means to me to know that you folks take time out of your personal lives to honor our Country and the men & women who serve in the military.  I had never heard of your organization until Luke called us from the airport last night to tell us about it.  I think it is just awesome what you are doing.  I will be putting a donation in the mail.

God bless you all.

Thank you again so much.

Hello Flag Ladies,

I want to say 'Thank You' for the meet and greet at the Bangor Airport March 3, 2009. My son was heading for Afghanistan. He was tired and had a checklist of items in his head for the activities of the next few days. Along with that he was naturally apprehensive thinking of the next year of duty when he called me from KS just before getting on the plane. He called again that evening from ME sounding so up-beat and explaining how he had his photo taken with these wonderful ladies with flags on the their shirts who greeted them. It meant so much to him. My son is 45, so not a young kid. He has had many military experiences - Kuwait in 2006 but he was touched by your efforts to show your support.  He directed me to the website and I have enjoyed reading of your organization. It brought tears to my eyes that you would be so nice to my son. And I was so amazed by all your activities and the web site is impressive.

Thank you with all my heart,
BJ
