Letters from Families & Troops

Hello our wonderful Freeport Flag Ladies,

This is Kathy Brooks, wife of Greg Brooks, from Sub Sea Research.  We saw your fantastic pictures of our Haiti mission on your site, and they were beautiful and touched our hearts.  Greg wanted me to ask you if you could please e-mail them directly to us, rather than as a link.  He is preparing to do a slide show when he returns from Haiti, and if you wouldn’t mind, he would love to include your photos in it.  They are the best ones we have seen yet.  Thank you so much for the tremendous part that you played in our goal to help Haiti. You know how the crew of our Sea Hunter, and we, feel about you.  You are beautiful spirits and we love each of you…

My son, SPC. JH has done two tours in Iraq and it looks as if he might be doing his next one in Afghanistan. He is a combat medic and Bronze Star w/”V” device recipient. He is but one of literally hundreds of thousands of good men and women who put their lives on the line. They also give up their lives and fortune for something we would all like to believe in but some make cheap. Valor, respect, honesty, dignity, courage… I could go on. Something always goes unnoticed in these kinds of things and that is the loss of whatever that man or woman might have been or done for himself, his country or maybe even the world. WWI and WWII taught us that life is NOT cheap. There are people who will never know old age or children. Who will never know what they might have been. They leave their life on foreign fields and die not knowing if we won or lost. When all in all, we all lose. No one ever really wins a war. We only have one side that is able to stop the killing.

I hope I haven’t rambled on too much, but I have gotten your emails every day since my son went on his first tour. Thank you for all you’ve done. Week in, week out, you have shown that thru diligence and patience, you can accomplish almost anything. You accomplish something every time you do what you do. Thank you again and may God bless you and your families.

To the amazing Freeport Flag Ladies,

In a time where it seems as if the world has forgotten that we are at war and don't think of the American citizens in uniform who are leaving their families behind to fight this war, you have brought reassurance that these soldiers sacrifices are recognized.  Your dedication to meet and greet every single soldier that comes through Maine is astounding. The personal time you sacrifice to spend your weekends at the airports lifts the soldier’s spirits and gives them a warm send off or a warm welcome home.  So many people would do it a few times and then give it up. Your commitment to honor these men is so inspiring that I wish more people would follow your lead.

My husband and I had only 3 weeks to prepare for his deployment. We are stationed in Germany and decided it would be best for our 3-year-old daughter and I to come back to the states to be with family while he is away.  You can imagine how busy we were with 3 weeks notice at Christmas time and preparing to re-locate and dealing with deployment paperwork and such.  My husband was so busy during those last 3 weeks that he didn't have time to mentally process where he was going and what he was going to do.  It wasn't until he landed in Maine that it struck him.  When he got off the plane and was greeted by the Veterans and the Flag Ladies, he was so humbled. He thought, "I'm just a normal guy. Why are they here for me? I'm just doing my job."  Then he began to realize that so many of these soldiers who pass through don't come back, and those that do, come back a changed man or woman.  He was very emotional at the fact that you were there for him and that you were cheering him on. Just a simple thank you and a lucky penny made him feel so proud.  Thank you for honoring my husband and for being as proud of him as I am.

I want to thank you also for thinking of the families left behind. Seeing a picture of my husband smiling in the airport and being well received comforted me.  I know how much time that takes to upload all of those photos, edit them, and then email them out. I hope you know how appreciative I am for your time and service.  Those pictures meant the world to me.  I'm so inspired and appreciative of what you do that I want to meet my husband in Maine on his return just so I can meet you ladies too!!  I've always wanted to visit Maine, so maybe this is my chance!!!

God Bless each and every one of you and thank you for your dedication and service. We will never forget you. I am telling everyone I know about your organization and encouraging them to go to your website.

Thank you so very much.  TS

My deployment is almost over and I am very excited to be coming home soon. I am keeping my fingers crossed that our Company will be landing in Bangor. You all sent us off on this deployment and I can't imagine having our first steps back in the states be anywhere else but shared with you. Thank you for all the support you have given us this year. My buddies and I took a look at the pictures that were taken on our way out in Feb'09. Lets just say that we will be coming back a little lighter than when we left. We got a good laugh at our pictures. Hope to see you soon!

Hi Ladies!

First of all I'd like to say that I'm so happy that you continue your site and the volunteerism you do for our troops and their families.  It was almost 2 years ago that my husband, Col GS, passed through Bangor on his way to Afghanistan.  I had written you at the time but will again tell you how wonderful it was that he was greeted by you and that we had a couple of photos that we could instantly see at the beginning of his journey.  I, and our 3 children, will be forever grateful to you for that.

I am writing to see if you still may have those long ago photos?

He safely returned home in January of 2009 and now works for the Joint Chiefs at the Pentagon.  He is in a civilian position but continues to be a U.S. Army Reservist for the next 2 years until his retirement at 30 years.  We are so proud of our country, our soldiers and families of soldiers, and organizations like yours.  What a wonderful gift you are to our service men and women and family members.  Thank you so much for your time.

Sincerely,SS

Hello, I just viewed the pictures on your website and I would like to get a couple of them e-mailed to me.  They are of my son, he is in the USAF.  They arrived up there in Bangor on the 10th of Jan.

I so want to thank you ladies for going out there and greeting our troops, my son said it was really nice to see y'all out there.  I do go out to our airport, Dallas/Ft Worth Intl and do the same with the troops coming in for the 2 week R&R.  I don't get out there as often as I should but do go out there.  I was out there on Christmas day and that has been by far one of the most rewarding trips out there.  I do take my 11yr old son and he really enjoys it also.  He feels honored to let the guys/girls use his cell phone to call a loved one to let them know they are in the states.

I won't take up anymore of your time, but would like the photos at your convenience.  Thank you again for making all the troops as well as my son feel welcome and to see them on their journey.  He will be back through there in May!

Thanks, LP

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

My husband came through the airport on his way to Afghanistan and was greeted by your smiling faces. He called me on his cell phone to tell me about your kindness.

I just wanted to thank you for you time and kindness to our service members. I really appreciate what you do.

It's very comforting to my children and I to know that you care.

Very Sincerely,

Dear Ladies,

Thank you so much for hugging my guy as he left the U.S.A. shores headed out to Iraq.  It was great to see his smiling face.  Our girls are 5 and 7 and it has been hard on them….they truly are “daddy’s little girls”.  They will treasure the photo of him.  Thank you for all you have done and continue to do….I’m so glad that there people like you that are proud to be American and act it too.  May God continue to bless you all!

Gratefully Yours,

Denise

I just wanted to say thank you for welcoming our loved ones at Bangor, Maine last Sunday. My husband gave me your site and I was finally able to look it up and it really, really made my night! I really do appreciate it and I thank you sooooo much! This is our first deployment and seeing a picture of him, well seeing his face again, really helped me a bunch! I want to thank you so much for taking time out for you day to do this, it means so much

It kind of made me smile too because you caught him 3 times and his roommates over there too. I don't mean to repeat my self so much, but I don't know how else to let you know what this means to me and the other spouses and families.

So, once again, I thank you SO much for what you do. It means a lot.

Thank you! Please take care and stay safe.

DP

Thanks so much for getting back to me; I also appreciate what you do for the families.  I am sure you can’t make it to all of them, and understand.  It was nice just seeing some of the ones I did look at.

Keep up the GREAT work!  Thanks again.

Thanks for your prayers, they are always welcome, the anxiousness does get overwhelming, they are busy where he is right now, it is hard not to worry!  I know they are in God’s hands!

I was called from Bangor Airport by my Boyfriend and he was excited to tell me that your wonderful team had taken picture of the troops. It really makes them feel good and appreciated for the service to this country.

Thank You so much for your mission and God Bless what you are doing!

BJ

OH WOW!  Sure that brought some tears, but you are so right...it's so reassuring to see him in his "native habitat". He looks comfortable, calm, unafraid, and ready.  I try to be the same!

I would love the email photo(s).  Thank you so much for your efforts, I’m sure that there are days when it seems like a lot of work, but I simply cannot tell you how grateful I am that you were there.

Please know how much you are appreciated...now, how can I help you the most?  Would a donation be the most welcome?  Or is there anything else that would help more?

L.

Last night (Friday) about 6:30, my soldier met you in Bangor.  He was talking on the phone with me and told me what you all were doing.  I'm looking forward (you have no idea how much) to seeing the picture, but before it is even posted, I wanted to tell you thank you.  It meant so much to him that someone took the time to tell him good-bye when he was already far from home.  And it means so much to me, too!

LA

Dear Ladies,

I want you to know how much you are appreciated for the work that you do for our troops. I am a mother of a Lieutenant in the Air Force. It means so much to me that you were there when he arrived in Maine. He was headed out for the United Arab Emirates. He is an Air Battle Manager and will be flying over different areas. He says he will be safer than his other tours of duty (4) where he was a medic, however I am still very worried about him.

I thank you for your time and efforts on behalf of my son and all the other men & women of our military that fight for our freedom.

Sincerely, PM

Dear Flag Ladies,

Our daughter-in-law shared with us your wonderful ministry to our troops as they are leaving the country.  We saw the pictures of our son, Ethan, and were so grateful for your kindness.  My dad and uncles were all veterans of WWII and my mom often spoke of how hard it was to see them go off to war.  I am so grateful that there are still people who are willing to make sacrifices to care for our kids as another generation heads out again.

Thank you also for your care and prayer for our kids; may God bless all of you with continued strength and courage to do the wonderful things you do!

With great gratitude, CL

I wanted to send you my personal thanks, admiration and gratitude for the support you show our soldiers. My husband flew out of "YOUR" airport in December (135th ESC Alabama National Alabama National Guard) headed for Afghanistan -  this is his 2nd deployment in 4 years.  He was amazed out the outpour of true patriotism and appreciation demonstrated by the  "Flag Ladies” It filled us all with pride and provided a much needed boost of energy. My husband is so proud to be given the opportunity to once again serve his country. but knowing it is appreciated by other Americans is a true blessing. . Our s is serving in Iraq and I forwarded him the web site. He thought is was "AWESOME & REALLY COOL" that you ladies are giving so much of yourselves to strangers.

Thank you seems so very inadequate to express how much your efforts are appreciated.....but is is all I can come up with!!

My God Bless each of you and this great country!!

Thank you so much for the photo you took of my husband at the airport in Bangor Dec 12th.  I was able to save it to my computer.   Love your web site.  It was so nice to see his face and have the photo for kids to see too.  We miss him.  Thank you for what you do, you touch so many hearts with your kindness, you did ours.

Bless you and Merry Christmas, LB

Thank you, Thank you, ladies for all you do -- all year long -- for the years you have stood as a beacon, holding the Flag high. Like the man, was it Aaron? who stood and held up Moses hands, as he held them up over the battle. I should look up the story as I write. It is a symbol to people who lift others up in prayer that they can keep their hands up. That they can be held up by others so that they can stand in the battle, till the battle is done, till they all come.  God Bless you all and meet your needs as you minister

to the needs of these precious soldiers, airmen, Marines, and Coast Guard and their families.

What you are doing matters. Rest in the love of all you have given out that is coming back to you. Will be praying today for those around the world. For Wisdom, for Protection, for Safety, for Courage, for Strength.

God bless you and yours

LJ

My husband is a Marine currently serving in Afghanistan. Today, I am having a "down day". My 21 month old and 8 year old daughters have been crying for daddy a lot lately, and keeping a positive attitude and smiling face for them, has finally taken its toll on me. I was checking my e-mails this morning and came across my usual Tuesday e-mail from Freeport Flag Ladies, and decided to take a peek at the pictures you guys were able to take of my husbands unit on their way to the "dust bowl". Once again, my husbands confident smile made me feel better (October 30Th, Page 9, 5Th row, dimples on the right!). Of course I have probably thousands of pictures of him, but the one picture you were able to take makes me feel better than any of them. I know at a time he was (undoubtedly) scarred and nervous about what lied ahead, he was surrounded by a network of people that were there to support him. I will never be able to put into words how that simple act of kindness makes me feel. At a time when I couldn't be there for him, he wasn't alone; he was surrounded by friendly faces, and love... You have (very graciously) already e-mailed me the copy of his picture. I had to make three copies, one for each of my girls and me. The baby keeps hers in her backpack, and shows everyone the "book" of daddy’s friends.

I just felt like I needed to tell you how special you all are, and that what you do really does make a difference to us. Thank you again, and have a very happy holiday season!

KJ- Murrieta, Ca

PS My 8 year old Rachael, calls you the Freeport Angels because the last time she saw her dad he was giving hugs and saying goodbyes and upset. When she saw the picture she knew daddy was OK and not upset anymore, and that he would be OK too. So thank you again, from her for that.

I would like to thank you for what you do. I’m a wife of a soldier in the Army. My hubby just left for Iraq again for the 3 times. I got a email from our FRG Leader telling us about your web set and that there was pictures of our unit. When I was looking at them it made me feel so good to see my hubby and our friends. We have a 4-year-old little girl and when she saw daddy it put a smile on her face. She is so a daddies girl and with this deployment was so hard on her. Iv never seen our little one act the way she did when it was time to say good-bye. I would like to thank you again for taken the pictures and for taking the time out of your day to say hello and to thank our soldiers.  Thank You, NC

First I'd like to say thank you so much for greeting my husband and the other soldiers! When my husband first told me about you ladies it melted my heart. It is such an amazing feeling to know that there are still wonderful people out there strongly supporting the troops and their families. By doing what you do you also support the ones left behind in the states and truly make us feel good in our hearts. When I heard about you ladies and what you do, it reassured me that the sacrifices our soldiers and families make are truly appreciated and worth the heartache. This is my husband's third deployment and more than ever I stand proudly beside him. Thank you for your love and support! You too are our heroes!

The picture you took of my husband was on November 22 Thank you again and appreciate your time and effort! I will cherish this photo forever.

 A proud wife,CG

Dear Flag Ladies,

I can't stop looking at the pictures you took of my nephew on Nov. 22nd at Bangor.

The night before he left, he called me and sounded scared, unsure and alone. Those pictures showed a very different young man. He was smiling and confident again. Your presence must have reassured him of what he was doing and why he was doing it.

I can't begin to express how much you ladies and your friends mean to the soldiers and their families. "Thank You" just doesn't seem to cut it, but it is all I have to offer.

It was a great gift seeing those pictures.

God Bless you all and as I pray daily for our troops, I will pray for you too.

AJ

I just wanted to say thank you for all you do for those men and women. My son was met by you on Nov, 22nd, He was able to call me and let me know that he; had mad it to his last stop in the US. He said that you were all wonderful to them, and eased some of the tension and loneliness that he was feeling. He is the handsome one in the first picture, showing them arriving. He is in a few other pictures. Again I just want to thank you all, what you are doing is a wonderful thing for our troops.

Good Bless PS

Our son and grandson were so happy to see the pictures; they called us so we could see for ourselves. We just visited your web site and saw pictures of our daughter-in-law being greeting as she and her soldiers landed in Bangor Maine on the way to Iraq.  We spent a little time reading about the history of the Flag Ladies and just wanted to say Thank you! What you are doing is amazing!!

Wishes for a blessed holiday season being sent your way from Wisconsin.

Freeport Flag Ladies,

I am a Navy Reservist from Maine deployed in the Middle East.  I come in contact with all branches of service on a daily basis, as it is part of my job here doing customs.  Every time someone mentions Maine, it is a story about how they went through Bangor and were greeted by a wonderful welcome committee.  Please keep up the good work.  Maybe when I re-deploy home I too will go through Bangor in route to my demob site and get to experience what others who are not even from Maine have cherished.

Thank you for all you do!

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies, I am a college student at the University of Tennessee and my father just left for Afghanistan on November 13, 2009.  It was really nice to be able to see my father in the pictures that you took.  It really made my night to see him because I have not heard from him since he was deployed and I just wanted to give you a big thank you.  I really appreciate everything you ladies do!!!

Thank you so much, MH

Dear Ladies,

My son came thru on October 30th with his Marine unit on his way to Afghanistan. We talked to him briefly upon his arrival there. He was glowing from his warm reception from you all before leaving the country. I cannot thank you enough for loving on my boy and helping him to leave our country feeling loved and valued. That means so much to my mother's heart! Please accept my sincere thanks for all you do. I did not see him in the photos that were posted on line but I know he so enjoyed chatting with you all and being spoiled. Jordan is number four of our ten children and we all adore him and are so proud of his willing service to our country.

Thank you SO much! GH

Dear Ladies,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome that you gave my husband and his unit at the Pease International New Hampshire airport the night of Nov. 1st. They really appreciated all of your kindness and generosity. It made me feel better knowing that there was such a wonderful group of people there to send them off.  Seeing his picture is wonderful and knowing that I was talking to him at the same time the picture was taken means so much. Thank you for all of the dedication, love and support that you give to our troops.  Your hard work does not go unnoticed. God bless you all

!!  Sincerely,  -a very proud army wife.

My husband and I both appreciate the warm welcome that your group gave to him and his fellow military travelers when they stopped in Bangor on their way overseas.  He was surprised and very pleased at the wonderful expression of support.  Thank you so much for taking the time and making the effort to let U.S. military members know that their service is appreciated!

Best wishes LP

Thank YOU!  My son was one of the Marines that came through on Oct 30th, and you captured his photo.  I have printed it out and it is hanging at my desk.  This meant the world to me.  I had no idea that you all were out there and did this. I know this meant so much to all of them to be greeted like this in NH, the last stop before leaving our country.  So again, thank you and God bless all of you.

Thank you so much for posting the wonderful pictures of our troops.

My daughter's husband of just over 1 year was deployed to Afghanistan just this week and we were so happy to see his picture on your web site.

It amazes us how caring and giving your group is even though the time listed is 1:40am.  Thank you so much for giving them the same type of greeting and send off that we know they deserve.  It warms our hearts to know that they received this type of attention and support.

Thank you again to everyone with the Free Port Flag Ladies and the dedicated people who continue to support our troops.

Regards, WP

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

I'm writing you this email in appreciation for the great service that you do.  My husband of the US Marine Corps met all of you on October 30th before they were to fly out to Afghanistan.  He called me that night to tell me what a warm welcome he and all the troops received when they arrived in Maine.  It really means so much to these fine men, that someone is thinking of them and appreciates what they do for our fine country.  My heart was warmed with appreciation and love for all of you.  Keep up this wonderful service that you provide to our troops because it is something they will never forget.  I also want to thank you for posting the pictures on your website.  May God bless all of you and may He bring our troops home safely.

With love, GS

Hello,

First, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support of our boys. I feel much better knowing my soldier was greeted with such support and the send off will remain in his mind when facing the dangers he is headed towards.

As you can imagine, this separation is very hard on Sean and his family. I so appreciate what you and everyone that helps you are doing for our troops. Bless you, one and all

Sincerely,

JK

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

I wanted to take a minute and thank you so very much for all that you do to support our service members.

My son was one of those Marines who came through on October 30th.  … He volunteered to go with Bravo Company, 4th LAR   He did this instead of going back to school after a deployment to Iraq with Delta Company, 4th LAR last year.

Finding that picture of him at your website has totally and completely made my day.  I cannot thank you enough.

There just aren't words.

Sincerely, CC

Dear Carmen, Elaine ad JoAnn and your other helpers,

Thank you so very much for the picture of our son whom you photographed last week. We are grateful beyond words. Your kindness was a boost to him and his colleagues and also to his wife and children. These are scary times and your kindness help hold that apprehension at bay.

May God bless you as richly as you bless the lives of others.

Dear Ladies,

Thank you so much for your dedicated service.  My husband just came through your airport at the end of October.  He was surprised and touched by your presence and kindness to all the soldiers and sailors.

He sent me the link to the pictures you took.  My children and I loved looking at them and were excited to see our sailor among the photos.  You are so very kind to do that for them and us.

We would love to have a copy of the one of him if that would be possible. It is a great picture and a true smile and we would love to have a copy of it if you are able.

Again, thank you so very much for your selfless dedication and for a great send off for our troops.

Words cannot express my gratitude for what you do. My husband is on his way to Afghanistan and called me today and told me about your website. While I was on the phone with him I went to the website and found his picture. It was like winning the lottery!!!

May God Bless yall. SC

I was able to find him, That's my honey!!

Thank you so much! My husband is my very best friend, and saying good-bye to him yesterday was the hardest thing I have had to do. We just celebrated our 9-year anniversary on Oct. 23rd. We have 2 daughters and my 8 year old was upset because this was one of the only times she had seen daddy cry. When she gets home from school today, this picture will help put her mind at ease too.

I know you are busy, and I do appreciate your time. If you happen to find any more pictures of my husband, I would love to have them e-mailed. I am not a very religious person, or a mushy emotional wreck. In fact most never see me cry, but I do believe that there are angels here on earth. People that give to others, and don't expect anything in return, people that do good, just because it makes them feel good. Please know that to me, you are one of these angels. This simple act of kindness, a simple photo has made me smile today, and for that I thank you.

KM

I got a call from my husband late last night, about 11:30pm in California. He had left for Afghanistan earlier that morning. I had never heard about what you wonderful ladies do, but he was so excited, and felt very honored for what you were all doing for the Marines last night. There aren't pictures up from last night yet (after all it's been about 12 hours!!) but I look forward to seeing them. I do have to admit that I am a little jealous that you got to spend some time with my husband, while I was home just thinking about him!

Anyways, THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO. Thank you for making my husband smile. Thank you for letting them know that not only their family and friends support them, but a complete stranger does too. I look forward to sending you another e-mail in a few months thanking you for making him smile once again, on his way back to me!

Thank you and God Bless you for being there to comfort him when I couldn't.

Hello,

I just wanted to thank you for what you are doing. You met my husband's company at the Bangor airport on October 14, 2009 and if I know my husband I can almost guarantee he didn't show the appreciation that he felt. You gave him a renewed spirit, and reminded him that there are people other than myself and our kids that still do support them (even if the cause may not be supported, I really don't know). He was feeling so low when they first left, and was questioning all reasoning for why he should sacrifice so much for so many people that just don't seem to care anymore (we found a lot of extremely unsupportive people while he was home recently), and it was wonderful to hear him say that he believed in what he was doing again. I don't want him to think that his job is going towards no cause at all, or that nobody appreciates what he does. My gratitude cannot be spread enough by what you did recently for him. Thank you so very much!

Also, if it isn't a problem, could you send me the one good picture that I'm sure you had to sneak on him haha, he can be a pain when it comes to pictures.

Again, thank you so much!
Sincerely, LR

Dear Friends, When I saw My son so proudly reaching to shake the greeters hand. That was the most awesome thing I have seen in forever I am a Texas Army Mom. This is my Son My Soldier and My Hero's 4th tour in Iraq it gets harder each time he goes. When I saw him in the

My nephew was met at the airport last week by your group. I have a wonderful picture of him that was taken by your group. He was on his way to Kuwait. Thank you so much for what y'all did to make him & his team feel welcome. If I did not live so far from you, (I am in Greensboro, NC), I would gladly join your group & do what I could to help.

Our family is very proud of him, but also worried for him & wishing we could protect him from harm.

I will worry every day of his deployment.

I just wanted to send you a quick note of gratitude for the support you show our troops. I know that you made their day. They have posted these pictures on their web pages with a link back to your site, so that I was able to view your site & send this email.

Thanks!!! LB

Thank you so much for your kindness to our troops. My daughter passed through the Bangor Airport en-route to Kuwait on October 14th. You have two photos of her on your website that I would love to have sent to me. I miss her immensely and seeing the photos on line made me somehow feel connected to her. Thank you again for a measure of comfort – for both of us I’m sure. I’m touched by your dedication. God bless you all.

I just wanted to say thank you for what you are doing to support the troops.  My husband deployed with the 317th MP BN.  You were there to send his unit off from Bangor on October 14, 2009.  It means more than you to know that someone was there to send off my husband with love in my absence while at was at home in Tallahassee, FL with our 4 year son.  This is coming form a wife and a veteran (Iraq 2003).  You are special women that are doing special work.  This Nation is a great Nation because of citizens like you! Thanks again.

Thank you again. You women are true blessings!

Dear JoAnn,

Hi!  I hope that your weather is better today than it has been!  We've been blessed with a few days of sun this week here in

Dayton, OH.  Thanks again for sending Elaine's beautiful message.  I admire all of you for your commitment to our military men and women and the 9/11 victims and families.  I have had a few weeks now, where Tuesday has come and gone and I haven't written back to you.  That makes me realize even more what a remarkable sacrifice you and the two other women make each week.  I am so touched by your efforts.

I have heard from my son via email and sometimes Skype.  We are supposed to talk today at midday (for me).  It is 7 hours ahead, in Iraq.  Our FRG leader sent us a newsletter that was from the Captain of my son's unit.  It told about what they have done so far on their mission, and also showcased a few of the soldiers and what they do, and something about their backgrounds.  It was nice to hear from them in a little more specific terms.  There were also pictures!  My son is going to have his mid-deployment break in November.  Since he is single and has a chance to travel, he decided to go to Germany.  He's getting pretty excited.  Much as I'd like to see him, I'm glad that he will have that opportunity.

Again, please know that all of you are in my prayers.  God Bless You for all that you do for your fellow Americans and their families.

Love, KW

Thank you. Our 2 sons just received orders for another deployment for next summer.  Your ongoing efforts are so important to all Americans.  Thank you for standing strong and persevering.  Keep reminding our country that another 911 is being planned and that those extremists still want to destroy our way of life.  The soldiers that you so honor and inspire thank you so much.  These parents of soldiers thank you as well.  C & D G Falls, Iowa

Dearest Flag Ladies,

Your website is absolutely phenomenal.  Thank you so much for your unwavering support to the men and women of the military.  Words cannot express the kindness and generosity as witnessed in these photos.  I would like to ask if you would email me a picture of my husband… My three sons would absolutely adore this picture.  Thank you so much!  You are all awesome and your dedication to the USA does not go unnoticed.  God bless all of you!

Sincerely, EO
Wife of Sgt, USMC

Freeport Flag Ladies,

I was directed to your site by the Family Readiness offer of Hmm 364 from Camp Pendleton, CA. These Marines came thru your town on Oct 6, just a few days ago. My son was not with them because he had to leave 3 weeks ago on the advance team to make things ready for them. He left his bride of 7 weeks.  It was not his first deployment. I looked at every photo you sent just because I was looking for his buddies.  I saw so many of them. So many that were just in the sword arch in his wedding in July.  Thanks for all you do. I myself volunteer and donate to an organization called, For The Troops out here in Simi Valley, Ca and I am the director of associates for the Marine Corps League Detachment 597.  I work tirelessly to raise funds, help families, etc, and on and on.  I never give up.  My heart, as yours, is with our troops.  Thanks so much.  I am actually copying some of the photos and getting them to Timmy in a letter.

Love you for all you do.  You are appreciated.

A proud, Marine Mom, missing her son.

Hello Ladies,

I just wanted to thank you so much for all that you did for our HMM-364 "Purple Fox" Marines on October 6th.  Your warm welcome at the airport was greatly appreciated by them, and all the wonderful pictures that you posted on your website were equally appreciated by their families and friends.   By the looks of your website, this was one of the many amazing things you do.  The world would be a better place if there were more people like you.

Thank you again,

Dear Ladies,

What an awesome service you are doing for a men and women of the military.  I came upon your website through Marine Parent.com.  Looking at all the pics brought tears to my eyes.  I was wondering if there are any pictures of the Marines that came through late Sept. 28th or early the 29th? My son would have been one of them.  I would love seeing a picture of him getting "loved on" by you wonderful ladies (& gents).  Please let me know where I can go to see any pics that may have been taken.  I know it would be impossible to get pics of every unit that comes through.  God bless all of you for supporting our troops.

A Marine Mom, PS

Good Morning Freeport Flag Ladies!!

I recently received the care package that you forwarded to me filled with goodies!  Everything included is wonderful and will be put to very good use.  I greatly appreciate your generosity, kindness, and words of encouragement.

Thank you very much for your tireless efforts to support America's troops.  I cannot thank you enough for always thinking about me and my fellow deployed Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines.  Please continue to keep us all in your thoughts and prayers.  God Bless you, God Bless our troops, and God Bless America!

The day these pictures showed up on line I sat here and cried and cried! I kept your website open for the entire day and came to my computer the rest of the day just looking at my "baby"! If I had a million dollars I would gladly donate it to you all. We don't live near a major airport but if we did I would be there every time a soldier walked in it. You will never know how much this mama appreciates you ladies greeting our sons and daughters. I bless you all!!

First of all I would like to say "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart for all you do.  My husband and his unit that came through New Hampshire on their way to Iraq yesterday were completely blown away by the reception you gave them.

The photos you took are wonderful.  Being able to see my husband and the others means the world.

 Thank you again for everything!

 Sincerely, EDH

Thank you for taking all of these wonderful pictures.

We greatly appreciate you being there to make their trip more enjoyable.  My husband is on his third deployment and has always enjoyed the support you provide the soldiers.

He always is cheerful and pleased to see all the greeters at the airport in Bangor, Maine.

Thank you once again for your support.

May God Bless You!!!

Dear Flag Ladies,

My husband's unit went through Pease on their way to the Middle East last Friday. You all took some great pictures of everyone while they were there. I would like to request a couple of pictures you took of my husband. But first of all, I would like to thank your organization for the wonderful reception you all gave the soldiers on their layover in your state. Just the bit you guys did for the soldiers on their way out of country was absolutely fabulous. It is so nice to know that there are people like you out there doing such nice things for our military. Thank you again and God Bless!!!
