Letters from Families & Troops

Thank you so much for the pictures of my husband. My 2 year old was especially excited to see them. I made her a copy & she carried it around for a while chanting "Da da da" and telling it stories.

Again, thank you for everything you're doing for the troops.

Sincerely, J.D,

My husband was one of the soldiers that you greeted so graciously at Bangor recently. I just had to let you know what a beautiful job that you did. The pictures gave my children and I a huge lift. Thanks for showing so much love and support. I pray that God continues to bless all of you beyond your wildest imagination. Thank you so much!!!

With sincere Thanks,

L.W.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking care of our guys from 94th Engineer Battalion from Ft. Leonard Wood, MO on October 9th.  The pictures are wonderful.  My boyfriend, SSG Pressley was in several of the photos.  I couldn't be happier to see that him.  It is good to know that there are so many people still willing to support our troops.  You are a true blessing and it makes me very proud to know that there are wonderful people still out there that care.

Keep up the good work and thank you for all you do. B.M.

Hello, Freeport ladies!!!!  Let me start out by thanking you for giving us the opportunity to see our loved ones one last time before heading out.  I was just blessed last month by having my husband return home to me after being gone for 7 months and now I have to say goodbye to my son for a year.  It's hard, but knowing there are people like you ladies out there helping out and supporting our military makes it bearable.  Thank you, again

Sincerely, S.B.

Hello Freeport Flag Ladies,

I just wanted to let you know we are here in Iraq and doing well.  We came through Bangor, Maine on 10 August…my unit is E Troop / 105 CAV out of Wisconsin.  I want to personally thank you for what you do and we’re all hoping to stop in Bangor, Maine on our return home.  This is a few months away yet, but we hope to see you again.

Thank you…

My dad left with the 275 MP Company on September 30, 2007

I just wanted to say Thank you to everyone that participated in this event. When my dad got to Kuwait, he told me what you ladies had done for the troops and he was very excited and appreciated it very much and I appreciated it also. I was not able to see him off the way that I wanted to but I think you guy helped fill the void. So to the Flag Ladies of Freeport Thanks for being that shining star.

Sincerely,

Dear Elaine, Joann and Carmen,

Thanks so much for all you do!  I enjoyed your email as well

May God richly bless you all for the wonderful things you do for these young men and their families back home--so eager for any word and a picture is just like a little piece of heaven!!  I passed them on to several other mothers I know with sons in that group.  They were also so thankful!

V.P.

Hello!  I live in Missouri.  I learned of your website last night through my husband who processed through your airport in Maine.  I was blown away by the level of patriotism and love you show these troops.  Your webpage brought a calming happiness to my heart.  I am so proud of all of you for supporting our men and women of the armed services.  It's wonderful to know that there are other Americans that care about this awesome country and all takes to keep our flag flying.  God bless you folks.  I can't wait to see the pictures (if any) you took of the 94th engineer bn. yesterday evening.  Thank you for your time and tender loving care.

 With all my love, A.C.

Dear Freeport flag ladies,

Thank you so much for the pictures you made available over the Internet.  I got to see them as they were forwarded to me by my daughter-in-law, who in turn received them from the leader of the wives' group for India co., my son had not even been able to tell me yet about being in Maine, but I had heard they had from another mom!  It was great to see all those young men, including my son, but also wonderful to see how great they were treated by you while they were there.

Thank you for making them feel special and for sending them off in our places.  May God bless you all for the time and effort you give to support our troops.  I wish they showed things like this on TV all the time, instead of the negative things they spend so much time on!

Thanks again -ever so much! V.P.

Thank you so much for the pictures you took of these brave marines.  One is my grandson. I’m proud of him and all of them, and also proud of you ladies for doing this wonderful deed for families of these men.

 Bless you all, J.C.

While I may have cried over the pictures, it was tears of joy! In fact, I may cry again during this email but I know I will be okay! You guys do this all the time. I know you change a life every time you do! But I am still so excited to think that even though I couldn't see him out of the county, some one else with a supportive spirit could! Thank you for that!

Hi. I just wanted to thank you guys so much. My fiancée just got deployed in September... September 26, 2007 to be exact. I have only heard from once since he has left. Seeing his picture on y'alls website site, made me cry, but for the first time since this deployment has started, they were happy tears. I saved the picture to my computer, but if there a bigger picture than the one on y'alls website, I would please like to have it.

Again, thank you so much for the best surprise of my day. S.F.S.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day here in Canada.  I prayed and gave thanks to god that he sent my son home safe from war.  But I will continue to write to the troops because I continue to hear from them that they need to know we care - we care about how they put themselves in harms way so we can be safe, - we care about the sacrifices they make each day to do their job so far from home and we care because they are all a mother's son, daughter, a wife, brother, sister or cousin just as we are back home, with one extraordinary exception, - they are us, but they are us at our very best.  As the soldiers angels say:  may no soldier go unloved, may no soldier walk alone, may no soldier be forgotten, until they all come home.

Thanks for continuing to send me your messages of love for our troops.  I love to read about those who care about them because sometimes all you hear about in the media is those who don't care.

Dear ladies,

I received the attached photo of my son at the Maine airport.  He’s on his way to Iraq for his first tour with the Marine Corps reserve unit from Baton Rouge, LA

Thank-you for your kindness to him.  Fortunately for him, your generous act is the last act of American kindness he experience prior to leaving.  My wish for him is that your kindness is waiting for him in the coming months when, lord willing, he will return.

As a former serviceman myself, I know that the support of our fellow citizens is necessary to allow us to maintain the will to do what the mission calls for.  Again, from a dad's heart, thanks.

 Sincerely, D.M.

Hi, my son is a Marine and passed through Maine on Sept. 29, the 2nd flight. I read where you would forward a picture if requested. First of all I want to THANK YOU for taking pictures to share with the families and being there to support our troops! You are all awesome and show the true spirit of America.

 T.D.

Ladies,

I was just able to view your site and was thrilled to see my son in law who you greeted in Bangor, ME on Sept 29, 2007 at 6:10.  He is rather elusive when a camera is around but we were able to find him in 2 pictures.  I have heard of you wonderful patriots greeting our troops home and was never aware that you greeted all of their flights as they moved out of the country as well.  Now that we are in deployment mode, we scramble for every glimpse or every word possible and you supplied those wonderfully.

Thank you so much for what you are doing.  When you reach Heaven some day, you will meet many of our Marines guarding the gate and ready to greet you as you have so wonderfully greeted so many of them.

God bless you, B.B.

Hi Ladies,

Just wanted to say thank you soo much for your support. You took a picture of my boyfriend in Maine and he told me about your website and how you were the most patriotic people he has ever met. We wanted to let you know how much we greatly appreciate your time and effort to support our military. Keep up the good work ladies. If its not to much I would love if you can send me the pictures of my Marine, they are from September 29, 2007 Marines Flight 2 pg.1, 2nd picture where your greeting them and the 10th picture on the left with a blue flag behind him on the top of the picture. I hope that’s good enough information for the right pictures.

Once again ladies Thank You for everything you are doing.

Sincerely, Allison

My son just shipped back to Iraq last night. (Sept 29, 2007) His flight got into Maine at 8:40pm. He called to tell us where he was and the web site that you have created. My sincere gratitude and appreciation goes out to you and those responsible for the outstanding web site you have created. You let the mothers, fathers, wives, children and families be with their loved one as they travel back into an environment in which most of us cannot imagine. We are all blessed to have such brave and honorable young men and women. Thank you again D.S.

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

It is so generous of you all to take pictures of our loved ones during these long deployments and goodbyes. Thank you so much for your ongoing support,

L.D.

Hello again Ladies,

Thank you so much for the reply mail and for the encouraging words. I was able to pull of the pictures and find my Marine. It brought me much joy and happiness to see a smile on his face. It is also nice to see pictures of ya'll with the boys, so we can put a face to the ones that captures these pictures.

Thank you so much for taking your time to take these pictures and also sending the uncropped copy. You are doing great work and I know that our Father above looks down upon ya'll with great pride and joy. Ya'll are angels for the families back at home.God Bless, Laura

I have two stepsons who are U.S. Marines.  E. is currently in Baghdad  (he re-enlisted after serving five years) and my oldest stepson A. was in Iraq at the very start of the war.  He served for five years and is currently working in California.

My 22-year-old son is also a U.S. Marine.  He left early this morning from Camp Pendleton for Iraq.  It was extremely difficult for me last night and today knowing that he was heading to Iraq.  He called today from Maine and told me about your group greeting them and being so warm to them at the airport. It truly touched me and I know that each and every one of those Marines appreciated what you did. How wonderful you are!  Thank you for what you did for my son and ultimately for me.

To all who Support our Troops,

I said goodbye to my son today he is an infantry Marine heading to Iraq. He came through your airport tonight and called me for a little while. So I came across this site and I just love the idea of what you are doing. I will be praying about all the positive impact you will continue to have on these wonderful men and women who serve so bravely. God will honor this warm effort of love. I will be back on site tomorrow to see if you have any photos of him or his squad.

M.J.

Hello Ladies,

First I want to say Thank you for all that you do to support the troops. I am newly engaged to a Marine that is over seas in Iraq. He left on Wednesday September 26th from Bangor Maine. He told me that you have taken pictures and to check the website in a few days. I was wondering when you would have those pictures loaded. I just want you to know that it was so nice of you and he greatly appreciated your support. For us family members back at home it will be nice to see our service me on your website.

God Bless, L.P.

Dear Ladies,

Thanks so very, very much for all you do. I know that it can't always be easy to be there at the airport but I really appreciate the work that you do to support our troops!

This is my son’s first deployment to Iraq and it about broke my heart when we couldn't see him off in Ca. To know that you were there means so very much to us.

You have some great pictures and I would love to get some of my son and of some of his platoon. Our Church is putting together care pkgs. and I am adding as many photos of the names my son gave me as I can and your site will help me in this so very much.

I just can't thank you enough for all that you all do. I know when Caleb called he was happy to tell us about this site and Mainetroopgreeters.com also.  May the Lord Bless you and all you do for our men and women willing to put it on the line for our FREEDOMS!

Thanks D.S.

My son called me yesterday evening from Bangor, Maine and told me about you ladies and how impressed he was that a group of ladies would serve our troop like you are doing.  He informed me that you had made some pictures of him and some of his buddies gave me this web site, so I am on the look out for the pictures.  His first cousin is with him in the same unit and thinks that there may be some pictures of him also.  Needless to say that I have sent your web site address to all of our family and friends.

I also went through Bangor on my way to Viet Nam on my last tour of duty there.  I recall a group of ladies like y'all(southern term) that gave us a send off from Oakland, California on my first trip to Vietnam. As my son related to me you ladies have certainly warmed their hearts and I might add also the hearts of many Moms, Dads, and family and friends.

Thank you, for caring so much for our son and all of the other Marines and Soldiers.  There is no doubt in my heart that God will Bless you ladies beyond all imaginations, and Y'all will receive a great reward from Him some day.

Thank You, and God Bless You

B & S B

Dear Ladies,

I want to thank you for the beautiful pictures. It brought tears to my eyes when I saw my son. I will be sharing them with my friends and family. I have also sent one to my son with a few things he is already asking for. I will keep them in my memory book to look back on.

I look forward to the day he returns and comes to Bangor. I live in Auburn, Maine so I look forward to also meeting you. He has already asked me to be there. I fly the Marine flag he gave me and will until he returns.

Thank you and God bless.

Proud Marine mom

To all the wonderful Flag Ladies,

Thank you so much for being at the Bangor International Airport when my son was deployed on August 26, 2007.   When I looked at your web site and found the picture of my son I cried but in the same sense I was happy that there was such great support and that he was among people that he knew cared... I wished that I was able to be there at that time.... so as a mom I was so happy that the flag ladies were. there again THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

Sincerely,

D.G.

Hello Freeport Flag Ladies,

Thank you for keeping everyone mindful of the events of 9-11. Elaine's poem touched my heart and I had to share it with my friends. It is especially heart felt for those of us who have loved ones deployed in harms way fighting for us and our freedoms. I had to visit your website again (as I often do) to view the pictures on the day our son came through Bangor and was met with such friendship and love from persons unknown to him and the troops, but those who have a love for soldiers, America and the American way of life. May God Bless each of you and know that we appreciate all that you do and have done for so many! Judy (NC)

Ladies,

Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures on your web site.  My brother was in the group referenced above.  We live in Arkansas and were not able to see them off when they left Wisconsin and flew into New Hampshire en route to Iraq.  I personally appreciate the welcome and send off you and the other patriots in your town provided for him and the rest of his team.  May God richly bless you for the sacrifices you have made to aid the soldiers at home and abroad.

Sincerely, K. R.

Please send me the wonderful photos of my husband. September 9 at Pease International  Thank you so much for the work that you do.  It is greatly appreciated.  My husband was so excited to be greeted by all of you.  It makes him remember why he joined the military.

Thank you again K. D.

My husband is with the 213th Medical Company based out of North Little Rock, Arkansas. I am the Family Readiness Group Leader for this unit. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this. A FRG member emailed me the link. I am going to forward the link to the rest of the FRG.

My son (2 years old) and I were just looking at this site and he saw his daddy. You should have seen his eyes light up. You do not know how much this has lifted our spirits as we’re going through this difficult time

Again thank you from the bottom of my heart for this. If you could PLEASE email me the original. It is very rare that I see him smiling in a picture. I would love to help you out with anything that you need.

God Bless, J.H.

This is a very very nice poem. It is really touching.

Elaine you sent me a picture of you and my son the beginning of this year when he was in Bangor and I treasure it. Thank you I wanted to let you ladies know how much I appreciate all you do. My son will be heading home from Iraq the end of this week, I do not know the day they will be in Bangor or if they even stop there? They are heading to Kuwait (spelling) on Sunday - they will need a few prayers that they get out okay.  I thank you for everything you do for all the service people and their families!  God bless keep up the great work!!

Hi Ladies,

I just found my son-in-laws picture on your website and immediately called my daughter.  I am in Round Rock (Austin) Texas; she is still at Ft. Bliss in El Paso.  She knew there was a website, and Adrian (her husband you so wonderfully took a picture of) had told her that you took his picture, but she couldn’t find it.  I found your website, called her at work, and we were both in tears.  It’s like a gift you give us all.  The picture you took of him shows him talking on his phone to her!  How perfect!

I had never heard of you or your website until now, but you better believe I am spreading the word!  You are wonderful wonderful ladies, thank you so much.  I’m sure you hear this a lot, but I couldn’t let the night go by without sending you a thank you note.  I didn’t realize how many people would be in these pictures, on these flights.  When you have a loved one going to Iraq, you feel like they are the only one in the world going over there.  The pictures are great, and once again, you all are wonderful for doing this for the rest of us.

Thank you again, from me and my daughter. T.R.

Firstly, I again want to thank you for what you do for the troops. I am the wife of a Soldier deployed in Iraq, and when he went over, you were there to give some comfort and support. I can only hope and pray that on his way home, he is able to be blessed by all of you once more.

Secondly, I want to say that you are all an inspiration to the rest of us. You three are what all American's should be like. Unfortunately that is not always the case. I sometimes think that the three of you care about our Soldier's more than some of their own families.

Thirdly, when 9-11 happened, it was like a new breath was breathed into all of America, and our country as a whole was again filled with the patriotism that founded our nation. Unfortunately as the years have passed, it seems as though much of our nation has forgotten or lost that passion that we renewed on that unforgettable day; but you have not. That in and of itself is an inspiration.

Lastly, I wish that I could be there tomorrow with all of you, and all of your supporters. Waving a flag for my country and my Husband. Instead, my thoughts and prayers will be with you from Ft. Huachuca, AZ. I hope that our nation can once again regain the passion and pride for our beautiful country that we once had, without another tragedy to ignite it. May God Bless you in all of your worthy endeavors!

With Thanks and Love, P.G.

A very proud Army wife!

Ladies,

We do not live in Maine now but I wanted to tell you thank you from the family of a Marine who will be returning from his 5th trip, via ship with a Marine Corps Air Wing, to the coastline of Iraq. You are doing these men and women a great justice with all that you do. I could only hope that there is a group like yours in every town and city in America. I know there isn’t but wouldn’t it be great? Again thank you from the heart we love what you do for our sons and daughters now fighting for our safety around the world.

I saw two photos on your website that I would like to have emailed to me.

Thank you for taking time out of your own busy lives to show support to these brave men and women. It means a lot to my husband and me to know that you were there, and I know that my son appreciated it because he called to tell us that night.

Thank you, B.E.

Proud mother of a Marine

How wonderful!!!   My daughter called me after she got home and found the picture.  It is now the screen saver on her computer.  He is doing well; he’s in Kuwait, awaiting transport to Iraq.  He just got back from there last December.  When he left this time, he left from Ft. Hood, not Ft. Bliss, so my daughter wasn’t even able to be with him right before he left.  It really broke her heart.  Your picture made her feel so much better.  You even got his little ‘slight’ smile that is so him.  Thank you so much for that.  He was really sad when he started talking to her, leaving the country makes it seem so final.  However, he brightened up when you took his picture while he was talking to Laura.  Your timing was excellent.

Thanks again, and also for sending another picture.  You ladies really go the extra mile.  I wish I was closer so I could hug you all !!!!!!!!

With much appreciation,T.R.

I would just like to say thank you, thank you, and thank you. My husband came thought there August 18 and when the link to your web site was attached to an FRG letter, I could not wait to look.  It made my day to see a picture of my husband. I think what ya'll (yes, I am from Texas..hahaha) are doing is great.

Thanks again!!!!!!

You all met my husband's unit on August 18th.  There were so many wonderful pictures.  Thank you for the pictures and for honoring them at a time that was difficult for them.  They looked very happy in the pictures.

My husband has been in the army 22 years and has been Special Forces and Special Operations for most of that.  I know this was a foreign experience for him since they almost always left, usually in the dark, with very little time to say goodbye and definitely no fanfare or appreciation from the public.  But they went without a second thought and did an outstanding job sometimes at a very high cost.  In the pictures, it was evident that my husband enjoyed every minute he shared with you all.  Thanks with all my heart.  Keep up the good work-it is one of the most important services to our country.

J.V.

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

My son left on September 1st for deployment in Qatar.  I was excited to see his picture on your website!!  He was the only person that I’m aware of from his base that left on this day.  However, when I saw all the military personnel that you greeted just on his flight, I was truly amazed!  Because I hadn’t heard of our group, I took time to read your history, etc.   What a wonderful commitment you’ve made!!!  Truly you have touched the hearts of many!!  Keep up the amazing work!!

Thanks so much!!! E.S.

First and foremost, I would like to THANK YOU for all you do! I felt very sad knowing that I couldn't see my son off. What a wonderful surprise I received when he called, on your loaned cell phone, to say he had made it safely and was fine. He told me how you were there to greet him and send him off at 1:30 in the morning. THANK YOU for being there! It means so much to the Marines & Soldiers. It meant even more for me, a Mother, who couldn't be there, for her son, to give a last minute hug or words of love and appreciation. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! Y'alll are GREATLY appreciated! You are earning your angels wings and rightly deserve them. May God continue to Bless you and all the Marines & Soldiers you come into contact with.

I would like to request a copy of the pictures of my son, Marine LCPL E. Chavez. He arrived in Maine on August 26th. The first photo is on page 2, photo # 1 and the second photo is on page 5, photo #3. Thank you so much for giving my son a warm welcome & a great send off. I'm sure he will be even happier to see you when he returns from Iraq. Thanks again!!!

With Love & Respect, J.C.

Hello! Our grandson was one of the Marines you greeted, shortly after midnight, Aug. 27. Besides being pleased that people care about him, he was especially glad that it was people from Maine who were willing to be there and show their support. You see, there's a Maine connection: his grandfather and I...and his mother...are Maine natives. We now live in Las Vegas, NV, but our Maine connection still is, and always will be, very strong. Andrew grew up hearing stories about Maine and now he has experienced, thanks to you, what patriotic Maine-iacs really are.

Thank you for all you do! R.S.

Hello,

I just received a call from a man I love very much.  He just stepped off a plane in Maine. Destination Iraq.

It is hard sending the man you love off to war.  But It some how made me feel better when he called because he said you were all there to greet him.

It helps them, and means, more to then than you know.  When people recognize their sacrifice and strength it sends them off knowing what they do willingly is worth it.

It is also easier for us (me) back home knowing there are wonderful people like you doing this for the people we love. God Bless you.

He said he may be in a photo because you ladies loved his baldhead.  (Not nearly as Much as I do..)

Sincerely, K.N.

Hi. I was given this web page from my husband from the 1-168 AV. Ft. Lewis, WA, whom you so kindly gave him a bear and a penny, I do believe. He also said that his photo was taken and would be placed on your web page.

Where would that be, so I can find it and when it is put up, is this a photo that I would be able to purchase to put into his scrape book?

My husband was very overjoyed that people were there to great them and show that someone out there cares about what they are doing.

For that, I myself say thank you for caring about my husband and all of his fellow soldiers, whom are all family.

If you could please pass on the information about the photos, I would be grateful.

 Thank you, M.H.

Hello WONDERFUL ladies!!

I am writing you from Las Vegas, Nevada.  Last night (Aug 26, 2007) my son was one of the Marines you were there to wish good luck as he left for Iraq. He is not even 21 and this is his 2nd visit over there. I wanted to personnallllllly THANK YOU for being there.  I know it meant a lot to him --and his buddies, BUT, more to me. See, I was born in --and grew up in Auburn until my parents decided to make to move out west. To have some REAL Maine-iacs wishing my son well means the world to me!!! GOD BLESS you all and what you are doing for OUR TROUPS!!  My family and I will be watching the website for his pictures.

Hello I just wanted to thank you ladies for the time you take out of your lives, to show appreciation to those who give their life for us. I was on the phone with my boyfriend a U.S Marine who is on his way to Iraq for 6 to 7 months and he gave me your web address saying you had taken a picture of him on the phone with me. I have read your info and I think you are wonderful women and god bless you for you are blessing others. Thank you

 K.B.

Hi!  Just a note to say thanks for what you do!  I had no idea until our son who just let for Kuwait yesterday that you did this – just thanks.  I have no idea is our son’s unit is on there but think it’s just super that you are there to shake there hands, telling them thanks, taking their pictures – it means so much to this mother.  Thanks from the bottom of my heart!

M.B.

Dear, Dear Ladies:

There's no way I can thank you enough for the wonderful things you do for the service men and women.  I can see on my son's face how happy he was to be there in Bangor.

For several years now, I have been working with Adopt-a-Platoon, trying to say thank you to these young men and women, but in no way do I approach anything you do.  Thank you again.

You really are an inspiration, and I've already talked to some friends about coming up with a way to honor the men and women from Warwick who are serving right now.  I shall let you know what we come up with.  Thank you again.

Hi, my husband had the pleasure to meet you on Sunday night, when his unit came thru Bangor on their way to Kuwait. I just wanted to send you a thank you for treating him and his fellow soldiers with the dignity and respect they deserve.

I am in for a long and lonely trip, but to know that there are still great people like you, my heart can rest a little. Again, Thank you for all you do.

God Bless, K.C.

Dear Freeport Flag Ladies,

Thank you so much for sending me the pictures and this nice email. Most of all thank you for supporting our troops!!!!

My husband called me and told me you greeted them at the airport and that meant so much to all of the soldiers!!

Thank you again! Lisa

You guys are just awesome!  I have found the “back” side of my son in two pictures but thanks for the offer, really do appreciate it but I thank you more for your kind and caring words.  It was helpful to see the smiles on their faces yes indeed but it made me feel so proud to know that people recognize and appreciate what they are doing for our country and that you understand what the families are feeling and need.  I do feel better knowing that the soldiers are loved and being prayed for.  You bring light into sometimes a dark and uncaring world, thanks for spreading that light.

Thank you for being such a proud American!

Dearest Freeport Flag Ladies,

I can only say, “Wow!”   The crazy thing is, I have never been through Maine before.  I have many friends throughout the US Army, and one of them recently flew threw Maine enroute to Afghanistan.  I had not seen him in about a year or so, and his wife had emailed us to tell about your group and the website.  It brought her much joy and happiness…especially the photo of him on your website.

As Soldiers, deploying is what we do.  It is not easy, nor will it ever be…but the work that you ladies do on our behalf, is simply humbling.  I say Thank You.  Thank You from me, from my fellow Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines.  Many thoughts and feelings go along with deployment, and the service and fellowship that you ladies provide really helps.  It helps us to know that we are accepted, that we are loved, that we really do matter.

As a Soldier, who also happens to be in the Ministry, it does my heart good to know that you ladies are there…night or day, to provide a warm welcome and goodbye to our Soldiers…some who may not have a lot of family to cry over and hug on…and you ladies fill that gap.   I pray that the Good Lord will bless you and keep you always, that your service that you provide will continue to bless Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines as they deploy, as well as all of their families.

Again, Thank You! SFC S.D.

I just want to say thank you very much for being there to say good-bye to the soldiers when they leave for Iraq. Yesterday my son left for Iraq and when he called to say his final good-bye his voice was so down and it just torn my heart a part. He talked about his nieces and his nephew and when he said good bye his last words were mom I just wanted to call one more time before I leave. That was in Norfolk Virg. When he was home for Christmas he felt that there was a lot of people in the states that did not support the troops over there and that hurt him very much. Well thanks to your group you put faith and hope back into him. Last night he called us around 10:00 PM and he was so excited about getting the cell phones to call home one more time and having people to shake their hands and support the troops before they leave. He told us mom you should be here it is very cool what they did. You put the spring back into his voice and most important his dad was able to say good bye to him again. It helps put our minds a little at ease after hearing his voice so down and hearing the spring back into it. Your group is very special and it is like having a group of angels giving them hope and faith before they leave and showing them that people do support them. You will never know how much that phone call meant to our family last night hearing his voice. I can never thank you group enough. God be with all of you and bless everyone in your group. Thank-you very much again. My two nephews and one niece has been through there a couple of times also but they didn't mention anything about this so I am going to let my brother know about your group also.
